I read through the bill, did a search for poker and found nothing. The bill does specifically mention games of chance.
I've never put much hope in this, but is this the stance people are going to try to take? Poker is not a game of chance, so the bill doesn't apply?
Obviously a state rulling in California could support that, but I think it's a long shot.
What do you do when the state rules something legal, then the feds say it's not? I'd assume the feds would win out on that one.
I'm going to try to make a call to Patrik Obrien tommorrow. He's one of the leading internet gambling attornies in the world (sued the DOJ for Casino City, represents Pam's Room and the Brunson network, etc). He realizes I may need his service soon, so he should take my call pretty quickly.
