Party Poker: Cheque-raiser (return of the tickets-promotions?)

From October 19 to 23 Party Poker will be running a promotion that has a slight resemblence to the "ticket promotions". This time they are counting raked hands, and will award cash on a daily basis. They say that this time, we will be able to track our progress, but given their history, I somehow doubt that this will be accurate.

I remember that there were some pretty accurate predictions as to how many tickets would be needed to finish in the upper brackets in the "ticket promotions".

I haven't been playing on Party since "Banning Friday", so I'm pretty out of touch with the games there. I hope that someone more in touch with the Party reality will post some thoughts and/or predictions.

they limited the nr of tables to 6 so with 9 hours 6-tabeling sh in a row you should be fine

SSNL still appears to be soft, and with plenty of players. Don't know about the rest.

Actually this is the old Lucy Jones Bonanza promotion. They tell you which level you are at and how many hands you are behind the next higher level. Results will be updated every 15 minutes via the drop down menus.

6 Max tables amassed more raked hand in. Limit gets more hands in per hour than NL. Wish I could enter. Top ten will be those who can pee in the gatorade bottle. It should not be difficult to get top 30 or top 60 if you have this desire.

Yeah, thinking about how long it takes to play each hand, this is [censored] for NL compared to Limit players. Yet again.

Why do NL players always get [censored] over on points systems, and then this comes along? I wonder how I'll do 6 tabling short handed NL... I guess I'll find out on Thursday.

is this any rake? i.e. is it +EV to drop down to the lowest possible level and play the highest number of tables

(more tables = less concentration = more mistakes, so lower limits better?)

Or is it a case than unless you play at a limit where every hand is raked, you don't stand a chance of finishing in the money?

Any rake, but I'm not moving down any limits for this. I guess I could play Limit again if I really wanted $150 each time I try this (I can play 8 tables let alone 6 for 8 hours straight without a break, as I'm sure many of us here can) but I can't be dealing with minbet poker any more now I've known the wonders of SSNL. No doubt I'll end up dropping a small fortune now I've said that, and won't make much anyway owing to table speeds at NL compared to Limit.

From my observations, you will have to sixtable shorthanded NL the entire periode, just to have a shot at getting in top 10.

I'm past the point where I can fiddle with PT to find out how many raked hands I have played.

Right now I'm on 3 100NL and 3 50NL tables, and playing okayish. I've definitely chased draws too much on a couple of hands and not laid down a couple I'm not happy with, and one awful blind battle laydown against a total NIT who decided to play cute with 77 when I had KK and the flop was

Well, today was the worst I've run in months. It was amazing how people would be calling pot sized bets with middle pair weak kicker and no draw and hitting 2 pair or trips almost religiously. I've never run so cold in my life. Never before have I missed so many flops, been rivered so many times or had an overpair beaten by a set or some unbelievably retarded 2 pair... The $300 doesn't even cover my losses today. What a waste of a Saturday. Ah well... at least that $300 covers some of the losses!

This is all today. I played 3pm-midnight GMT for the Party promotion. Didn't even top 10, but I still made a sweet 1.4k and moved up to NL100 after being at NL50 for only a week! Life is good! I'm about to go spray my shorts.

hmmmmmm... nice. I only played for a couple of hours today when I realised I had a $100 deposit bonus which I had to at least claim today. Cue doing that, making $15 from this promo (which I really didn't expect given I only played about slightly more than the 1,000 raked hands required for the $100) and then enough from play to mean my weekend was worth a paltry $120 all in. Woo! Back in profit!

I might go for it today, seeing as it's the last day. Be nice to make a 3rd Top 10 finish if I can. Fingers crossed I run (and play) better.

Another shocker of a day. Down $28 (not so bad I suppose, considering how much losing sucks and I apparently have forgotten how to play poker) and only a $150 bonus.

Total score for me during this promo: $765 in bonuses plus $100 reload and a pittance from play (maybe a couple of hundred total? I've not worked it out yet). I'm not playing these stupid hours again but I'll take it this time around.

I realized that 50NL was the optimal game to play. Each time a flop is seen, rake is taken, and since it is the lowest game, where this happens, it must have the most loose (read: bad) players, and therfore the most flops.

I played for two days at $50NL and came 3rd and 6th. I think a really important factor in finishing top 10 is using partybetpot or a similar program to make betting quicker and hence playing more hands.

I played it with a fellow 2+2er on Sunday and that was our only difference. I came 3rd, him ~16th.
