You have been connected to Tyrone Mclean.
Tyrone Mclean: Welcome to our website, you've made an excellent choice! Do you have any questions about our site?
Mark Mohr: Yes, when can I have my money?
Tyrone Mclean: You will have your money as soon as we are instructed further by our atterney.
Mark Mohr: I don't give a [censored] about your attorney. That's my money and I want it.
Mark Mohr: Don't you have something to say?
Tyrone Mclean: Sir, your money is in your account.
Mark Mohr: ok, so send it to me.
Mark Mohr: there's nothing in this bill that says you can't send me MY money.
Tyrone Mclean: How will you request your withdrawal?
Mark Mohr: Neteller
Mark Mohr: Check
Mark Mohr: Firepay.
Mark Mohr: I don't give a [censored]
Tyrone Mclean: Sir, all the mehtod are suspended from doing transaction with gaming site.
Mark Mohr: not true
Tyrone Mclean: You just have to wait untill further instructed.
Mark Mohr: Have you guys read the bill?
Mark Mohr: Why are all these other sites still sending me money, but not you guys?
Tyrone Mclean: Yes, we have and we are acting under the guidance of our attorney.
Mark Mohr: Party Poker just processed my cashout. I understand if you guys want to be a bunch of chickenshits and follow this ridiculous law, but that doesn't mean you get to hold my money hostage.
Tyrone Mclean: Sir, if you would like me to continue to assist you you will have to stop being insultive.
Mark Mohr: You have to understand that your company has already insulted me by not giving me any fwarning that I would not be able to cashout. You said it was business as usual.
Mark Mohr: Which was a damn lie.
Tyrone Mclean: Sir, it is post on our site in bold letters.
Mark Mohr: when?
Tyrone Mclean: Since 10am this morning.
Mark Mohr: holy [censored]
Mark Mohr: so how long did I have between when you posted it and when I could get my money out?
Mark Mohr: You guys knew this bill was passing and knew Bush was signing it so you knew you were going to block me from getting my money and you never told me. You should have told me a week ago.
Mark Mohr: This is complete [censored].
Tyrone Mclean: At 10.00am this morning, US Eastern time, President George Bush signed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, bringing that Act into force.

As a result, and in accordance with the advice of its lawyers, Betcorp Limited has suspended all US-facing operations, pending further analysis of the Act’s final text and receipt of further legal advice.

This means that, until further notice, it will not be possible for US residents to place wagers or make deposits on, or make withdrawals from, any website owned or operated by any company in the Betcorp group. This account freeze will remain in place until such time as Betcorp has fully assessed its legal position.
Mark Mohr: I understand. I am telling you that you should have let me know this was going to happen ahead of time. This bill was no secret.
Tyrone Mclean: Sir, it was posted on the site.
Mark Mohr: Instead, you guys acted like it was business as usual. Completely insulting. I want an apology.
Mark Mohr: When was it posted???? TODAY???? What gooddid that do me???? NONE, it was too [censored] late.
Mark Mohr: I logged in to your poker site every day this week and there was never any message that my funds were going to be blocked starting today.
Tyrone Mclean: We did not know that the president would going to sign the bill
Mark Mohr: JESUS CHRIST, are you [censored] serious?
Mark Mohr: Do you think Congress just passes bills for the hell of it?

Quit treating their live chat like pieces of shiat. OP are you gonna claim ignorance for leaving money in BetWWTS? You knew this was gonna be signed but didn't run panicking like everyone else. I have a lot of money in WWTS too but going crazy on their live chat is gonna achieve what? Hows about you read some of the other threads and then you will know what is going on. BetCorp fcuked up. They should have already split the US customers off to a private company like SportingBet PLC did, but they waited until it was to late on Friday to achieve this. Come Monday it will be business as usual and cashouts will be processed as normal. They will sell the US portion for some small amount, which really seems like the shady part but hey we will still be able to gamble it up.

I hope come Monday they simply cancel all pending bets and cash you out if you treat their CS like the OP did. Not cool.

This site just ran a promo where they offered a free Monday night football bet of $100. In my case they did not honor the bet. Then when I tried to cash out they wanted me to jump through hoops to complete the cashout. They probably are sitting on a large number of small balances due to U.S. customers. They are CROOKS.

Grow up. No excuse for taking out your frustrations on a customer service rep. There was exactly zero chance of accomplishing anything positive.

We all complain about customer service. We deride the sites for hiring poor staff.

It's people like you who make it impossible to hire good staff. Or to keep anyone long enough to become trained and experienced.

I don't really understand how someone wanting to cash out their money and getting upset at a site's obvious lack of knowledge keeps them from hiring good staff. How someone thinks it can ever be "impossible to hire good staff" is pretty funny now that I think of it.

Almost like saying it's "impossible to hire good teachers" because of a few bad students, and in this case the "student" wasn't even "bad".

are you f uckin dumb? Nowhere in the bill does it say that withdrawals would be illegal. No other (as far as i know) company is practicing this, specifically ones that have decided to and are as we speak pulling out. So why should OP be claiming ignorance of anything? He was planning to withdraw by this weekend (when the bill would be signed), which is good.

And, if you have "loads" of money on that site, you should be doing the same thing and demanding that you want it back along with anyone else who has planned for a cashout but not getting it.

I understand and agree that OP should not have blamed the customer service REPRESENTATIVE for doing his job, but get off your fatasses and do something already, people should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people.

Turnover rate is so high in the customer service industry primarily because of people who get irate and are not reasonable when dealing with someone. While I sympathize with the OP, what exactly did he think he was going to accomplish by insulting the CS rep? All CS reps do is listen to people complain, it's their job...hell even if only 1% of your customer base is upset at a company, that's the only people they are going to hear from.

Get upset, get mad, demand your money back...but be somewhat realistic about it. Give it a day or two, see what happens as has been pointed out several times before and go from there. Insulting some poor guy on the other end of a chat window gets you nowhere.

Mike Cuneo
10-13-2006, 11:46 PM
Also, if he doesn't "take out his frustrations" on the CS Rep, who else can he really take it out on? Maybe management should realize that "bad" CS people is a reflection of the management themselves.

In short, OP wouldn't have anyone to complain to if management had simply kept him well informed or let him cash out, as other sites do. And you can't say OP didn't "do his own HW" or any of that BS, he knew more than the CS rep and management when it came to the bill, if CS rep doesn't like getting berated he should go to management and tell them to become competent or simply quit.

I realized I wasn't going to get anywhere by berating Tyrone. Unfortunately, there isn't a seperate place to chat with upper management of a company. I work for a client service related company that holds money for clients. I know exactly how it goes. The only way to get something from these kind of people is to blow up and let your frustrations known. I'm not going to sit here and do nothing while I'm getting a$$ [censored]. The fact that everything will/might be okay on Monday is irrelevent here. They have my money and they aren't letting me have it. That's wrong and I will scream and cuss all I want to whoever I want until it is rectified, end of story. I don't give a [censored] if Tyrone quits. That's their problem, not mine. My only problem is that I don't have my money. Everything else is none of my concern.

Seriously don't even bother arguing with the BETWWTS(Betholdem) live support. They are borderline useless and have ZERO control over anything besides being able to restate rules and policies that are listed on various websites. They don't seem to be informed about anything and do not have the ability to see that you might be right. Problems with Betholdem should be just sent straight to the poker manager's email or possibly attempt calling him(he listed his phone # on an email he replied to me), it's the only way I've had an issue cleared up. He'd be the closest person to the top that you could probably come in contact with in BETWWTS.

Of course from what I'm hearing through affiliates is that like some other people have mentioned, the company is going private ala the pokerstars route. This should be complete on Monday and the transactions will open back up.

No, it's a planned scam. This is how they keep the customers till they can sell them to another company. Not bad either, I would say. Then they will reopen in days or a few weeks, under new company for the yank players, you go back and see you can continue playing, and most of you won't withdraw. OR they will take the money and fly drinking daiquiries. 50-50. Who will take over?

Mark M: Which law prohibited you from letting me know that you were going to freeze my account and hold my money hostage?
Christine G: your account was suspended after the bill was signed
Mark M: Yes, I am aware of that. How come you didn't tell me that was going to happen a week or two ago after Congress passed the bill?
Christine G: until further notice that is the what it is
Christine G: we do apologize for any inconvenience
Mark M: Yes, having 8000 sitting there doing nothing with no warning is a small inconvenience.
Mark M: I presume you wouldn't mind having someone hold your 8000 as long as they promise to give it back "as soon as possible."
Christine G: sir I understand
Christine G: but that is the reality of the situation
Mark M: you understand that your site has really screweed me and a bunch of my fellow gamblers?
Christine G: Mark we are committed to having your access to the account restored as soon as possible
Mark M: It's not good enough, but I understand you are powerless here. It's been real. Bye.
Christine G: bye

ok, that is stupid. THat b*tch was even way more f ucking annoying and dumb than Tyrone and you treated her 10x nice. You should have told her to f off even more and still made a real good point about the situation by logically addressing her condescending replies that completely ignore any question you put forth, and not have been as harsh to Tyrone. Are you one of those computer nerds that finds being nice to supposed "women" on the internet fulfilling?

Exactly why did you flame the guy but not the girl? I think bill maher is right when he says we are in a feminized society.

STFU, noob. I was trying a different approach for all of our amusement. This time, I logically tore her a new one. Last time, I verbally tore him a new one.

They aren't banks, and probably aren't taking loans out using their players accounts. The room's money (taken in the form of the rake) should probably be held seperately from the players' money.

should, yes. reality, no. a quick look at annual reports of listed companies tells the story.

Also, if he doesn't "take out his frustrations" on the CS Rep, who else can he really take it out on? Maybe management should realize that "bad" CS people is a reflection of the management themselves.

I've got an ex-girlfriend who was a customer service manager and my current one who's a CS rep for the local phone company. I can just about guarantee that the rep knows you're right and is just doing his job. The only excuse for getting irate with a rep like this is if the rep lies to you and even that's questionable. OP has every right to be upset, but is still an a-hole. Escalation is the key. Ask to chat with his manager. Then get as abusive as you want. They get paid enough to take your crap /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I cleaned it up this time:

Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...
You have been connected to Christine G.
Christine G: Welcome to Live Chat Support, I am your Customer Service Representative, how may I assist you?
Mark M: How come you froze my acct. and didn't let me know ahead of time that you would do this once Bush signed the bill?
Christine G: we did not know ahead of time
Mark M: did not know what?
Mark M: about the bill?
Christine G: we did not know ahead of time what would happen
Christine G: until the bill was signed
Mark M: why is that? the bill has been public information for two weeks.
Mark M: Surely, you had thought of a response in the past two weeks.
Christine G: we are making everyone aware of what is happening at this time
Mark M: that's too late. You've already frozen my account. That's unacceptable.
Mark M: You knew what the bill said two weeks ago, so you had to know that this was going to be yor response so you should have let your customers know so they could withdraw their funds.
Mark M: that only makes sense, right?
Christine G: that is your opinion
Mark M: do you disagree?
Christine G: it is not for me to agree or disagree
Mark M: is it fair that you have my money and you are earning interest on it while I have no access to it?
Mark M: I don't leave my money in your site so I can watch it sit there. I leave it there to play poker. Since I can't play poker, you should have told me so I could withdraw it. That only makes sense.
Christine G: I understand what you are saying
Christine G: but laws are made that has to be followed
Mark M: I would hope so. It seems pretty clear.

If not an outright law, this is pretty much pressing the envelope of truth telling

"Christine G: we did not know ahead of time what would happen until the bill was signed"

And saying that BETWWTS did alert people at 10am that morning, is pretty much stretching the truth.

That wasn't the point, the point was any and all inquiries before 10am were answered by saying that they were staying open for US customers.

Answering somebody complaining about letting him know BEFOREHAND they'd freeze his money by saying we let you know AFTER we froze your money, and constantly pointing that out should reflect on the CS person as well as the company.
