Got emails today from all prima sites I am at.

They are pulling out of the cursed 10, of course I would have to live in Oregon. Such a good place to live, what a bummer!

Which states would that be?

I confirm this. Illinois is out as well. The e-mail appeared to me that it was the entire US not just 10 states though.

(from my prima client) [email was edited to remove my account info for incredibly obvious reasons]

It is with deep regret that we inform you that Royal Vegas Poker will stop accepting bets from our customers in ILLINOIS, as from mid-day, Eastern Standard Time, on October 13th.

The Safe Ports Act passed by the US Congress on Friday, September 29, makes the transfer or direct processing of money to online gaming institutions illegal in the USA.

As a result, Royal Vegas Poker has no choice but to lock your poker account, and return all cash balances to you via check, or your preferred method of payment.

Please log into your account as soon as possible and withdraw or play through any remaining cash balance you may have.

Any cash balances remaining in your accounts after Friday, October 13th will be returned.

We would like thank you again for your loyalty and patronage and confirm that customers, such as yourself, have always been at the heart of Royal Vegas Poker. We will be following all developments extremely closely and should the situation change, we will advise you accordingly.

Please direct any queries that you may have, or balance withdrawal requests to our support team on enquiry@fortunelounge.com or 1-866-534-1595.

Kind Regards,
The Royal Vegas Poker Team

heh that sucks. I didn't get an email from them. I live in MA. I also just opened an account there yesterday and have never made a deposit though.

A BetHoldem live chat operator just told me that they have not heard of any Prima action. They are not sending notices to any U.S. customers.

Take that for what it is worth.

We expected some Prima skins to pull out. Have we really heard anything new except the details?

Is there any actual evidence of network-level action?

Does anyone have information that PRIMA is pulling out of these states?

This e-mail only references Royal Vegas. Many, but not all or even a majority, of Prima sites have excluded players from certain states over the past several weeks and months. But to date, the Microgaming (Prima) network itself has not to my knowledge made any requirements of its skins to stop service to any jurisdictions.

Anyone have further info on this? If things are remaining status quo with regard to Microgaming's practice of lettings its skins decide, there are still plenty of sites to choose from.

Battlefield e-mailed me saying no more play there after bill gets signed, add that to the list of skins no longer accepting people from those 10 states.

Very glad I cashed out last week.

TT,

Any idea why Prima's 10 states differs from Paradise's 10 states?

I received the same email from Battlefield this morning. Unfortunately I live in NJ so I am SOL. I also have an account with BetHoldem and spoke with them via Live Chat. This is what they said:

Me: yes, i recently received an email from another microgaming site, telling me that they were going to close operations in a number of US states. Will you be doing the same thing?
Sharise S: We have not, to date, received any correspondence from Micro gaming. Until any updates are received, business will operate as usual. We will be sure to update you if the situation arises.

So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Basically, it is only a violation of the new Federal Law if gambling is a violation of state law.

Yes, it makes bank transactions for the purpose of engaging in unlawful gambling a felony. So it if is not unlawful to gamble in a state, the transactions are not a felony. But if it is unlawful to gamble in a state, then the federal law makes bank transactions to engage in that unlawful gambling a felony.

Uhhhhh...not quite correct. The UIGEA provides enforcement measures of already existing federal and state laws that specifically prohibit internet gambling. The states listed are those that already have laws on the books that address internet gambling. Currently, all the other states have no laws regarding internet gambling.

I just got this e-mail. It clearly states Microgaming has made the decision, not the the skins.

I am not buying any of this. I think some of these hire Lionel Hutz as their attorney. If well respected sites like poker stars arent making the distinction i have no reason to think a few small sites have it right.

Well now I can't get into my BetHoldem bank, so it looks like it is all of Prima. Pretty [censored] if Prima didn't tell all their skins about this and just did it.

Stars seems to be saying poker is not unlawful gambling, legal everywhere, therefore they need no state distinctions.
