How much EV do you lose by clearing a bonus with Roulette instead of BJ? I never really played BJ before (well not according to "proper" strategy at least) so I think it would potentially be worth it to just play something like roulette instead if I wasn't sacraficing very much EV. So is it ok to clear via roulette, or some other super easy game that I don't have to pay too much attention to?

most places don't count roullette betting as wagering requirements for casino bonuses (actually, I think all don't)

most casinos don't allow roulette for bonus clearing. even if they do, you are losing A LOT of EV vs. blackjack, to the point where the bonus becomes mathematically worthless.

Many casinos do not allow roullette because whores will bet both red and black to clear the bonus faster. This does not change the EV of the bonus and some have software that will not allow these types of wagers.

The blanket statement that roullette is -EV couldn't be more wrong. Once you get down to the smaller Casinos, they only count certain games as a % of your WR. If BJ counts 10% and Roullette counts 50%, which is the case in many I have whored recently, the EV(BJ)<EV(Roullette).

he HA on French roullette is 1.35%, while the HA is about .6%. SInce the HA on roullette is less than 5x the HA on BJ, roullette is greater EV because of the inflated WR when playing BJ.

Back when casinos had 10x bonuses, people did roulette (even though Bj was better).

I think the big casinos make a big mistake in disallowing roulette. They could give a 25x bonus and allow people to do red/black on American Roulette (making the bonus -EV). Lots of so-called "bonus abusers" (like OP) would do the bonus and lose $$, so the casino profits. Additionally, us whores can snatch up all the 25x bonuses /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I wouldn't worry about it too much, with all the publicity these bonuses are getting it's not going to be long before the microgaming casinos start moving french roulette into the 10% list /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yeah. They're thin EV anyway.

Thin EV if you grind out the bonus. Most of them you can cash out winnings. Play one hand, double up with their money, press it and cashout. Getting 5:1 on a Baccarrat bet is +EV.

But they are sooooo much more fun then grinding bonuses!!!!

(and When I mean grinding bonuses, I mean betting 10 to 25 per hand on BJ)

Oh I didn't realize roulette was so -EV, I just started playing french roulette to clear some of the bonuses that have been posted here. Well I guess I will stick to BJ and baccarat then.

Higher HA doesn't necessarily mean lower EV. BJ has a higher WR at most sites than roullette, making roullette the smarter play.
