Here's a snipet of what Intertops said, as quoted on BW:

The offer is available to genuine players only, genuine players being ones that are active /participating in games with the intention of winning pots. Any players who attempt to abuse the offer by contributing only the small/big blinds with no intention to actively participate in games will forfeit the right to claim the opening bonus."

The players were playing tight ourside the blinds, but were playing when they had a hand.

So now playing tight is considered to be abusing the offer. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

But they still don't fold big pairs UTG do they? /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I wonder what percentage of hands outside the blinds you have to play to be considered "participating".

I am a bonus whore and I play like 17.5/11. And I do think that people playing 5/5 are pretty nice guys. The donate their blinds virtually every time to my raises. Easy money, low variance.

I think they sorta deserved it. When you play a 700 raked hand bonus, do you REALLY have to stop at 702 hands and send emails demanding your bonus? Jeeze just give em a bit of extra cover play - the point of these bonuses is to attract new customers, whores that fold to a bonus and then cash out are not customers, more like parasites. What's the bet if these guys had just done a few hundred extra hands and then made a $10 sports bet there'd be no problem at all. It's ok to whore just don't have it stamped on your forehead while you're doing it.

I think no matter how person plays any site should not be allowed to not pay bonus. They can deny future bonus offers but not ones already promised.

I wonder why all poker sites have not changed their bonuses so that you only gain them from hands you win. It sure would force worst bonus rocks to play. For example 100 dollar bonus cleared 1 cent for each cent you pay rake on hands you win.

I disagree. Intertops should have made their bonus on contributed hands, or just made it 1000 hands. Make up your mind, your the site, you make the rules.

Also cover play, for poker or casino's is -EV in my book.

What a dumb post. They offered them 700 raked hands instead of the usual 1000.

Now why would they play 300 more hands extra when that would just be there regular bonus?

What you need to understand is these sportsbooks are not like Intercasino who are hell bent on giving out free money each month. The bonuses are to reward regular players who actually contribute rake each month. Low limit poker is +EV for anyone with even a fraction of a brain, what the hell is the big deal with playing an extra half an hour and gambling it up just a little rather than being a tight-ass whore?

Then they pay what they offered and then ban the player form more bonus. Pretty black and white there.

This is exactly the problem. You can't make an offer and then decide to pull it because your offer was too generous to some players. If the bonus is too good change it or stop offering bonuses to players AFTER they have paid what they owe.

in my case... im a 17/7/2.5 full ring limit player...
my 700+ raked hands generated low-$40-something in rake...
an extra half hour of playing wouldnt made such a difference...
besides, I cannot control how much rake a full ring table generates...
remember that the bonus was based on amount of raked hands, NOT generated rake...

bottom line, shady Intertops promised but didnt deliver...

Whats so shocking about that? I have 90k hands in pokertracker so far this year, not one of them was played without going towards a bonus of some description.

If a player meets the published T&C for a promotion then he should be paid. he shouldn't also have to meet other hidden conditions that only get mentioned when the bonus is being refused.

If a site doesn't want to pay a bonus they shouldn't offer it in the first place!

The nearest I get to coverplay is click off autopost blinds and see out the orbit in which I hit the bonus!

Mine too. Glad it seems to have worked out -- they'll certainly never see any of my business again though, no matter how good the bonus offer. Their software has been removed and will never again be installed on my system.
