i will be there, although prolly not playing the ME. as of right now, cash games running include 5-5 NL, 5-10 NL, 10-25 NL, and some micro LHE (3-6 maybe?) and i think a 1-2 NL game. im not sure whats going to happen when the circus is in town, though, because the poker room is smallish and they'll definitely have to add tables somewhere (likely a different part of the casino) to accomodate the donkament players.

Should take no more than 5 minutes, unless you're crossing during rush hour. Passport/driver's license is all you need. I have crossed many many times in a taxi, and they usually don't even ask for ID.

you can still qualify for the $2500 'canadian championship' event via live satellites. i spoke to somebody yesturday and they said that 17 spots were still avaiable. (300 max entries) i know for a fact there is a $330 super being held at noon on saturday.

they are being held at another casino. seneca niagara i believe.

out the door towards the 401 the second traffic lightens up.
good luck everybody.

I will not be going to this event, but this is my "home" casino SORT OF. Let me explain. This may get long.

For the past 3 years, I have been driving the 3.5 hrs from my house in Ohio to the Fallsview Casino to play Hold Em. There is a casino on both the American (Seneca) and Canadian side (Fallsview and Casino Niagara). I choose to go to the Canadian side 100% of the time because the games were sooooooooo much better over there. I was driving there every other weekend, getting a room for the weekend and playing poker. I am married and my wife encouraged it because I was winning so much. It was like a 2nd job.

Then this past May, I was stopped at the Rainbow Bridge border and detained at the Immigration center. I did nothing wrong. It seems I was just randomly choosen to be "inspected". My car was searched and I was held and questioned for almost 2 hours. I had a non-refundable pre-paid room in Canada for $300 at the Doubletree that I could not get to. I was told I was not allowed back into the country until I showed them proof of employment and a history of my police report (of which I have no police history). I ended up winning over 3K at Seneca that weekend by getting all in for $1500 with a set of eights vs a set of kings and spiking QUADS on the river.

I have not been back to Canada since.

As far as the games (and this is normal tourist season traffic), they are JUICY! There are so many fish it is sick. I usually played 5/5: $200-$500 buy in OR 5/10:$500-$1k buy in. They also have a 10/25 game in which I never played. I am aware of micro limits such as 1/2 and 2/5 but I never played them so I don't know the buy-ins.

The major problem at Fallsview is the lack of open seats. There have been several times on Saturday mornings I would arrive before noon and still not be on a table at 3:00. The waiting list there always seems to have TONS and TONS of ppl on it.

Their waiting system is horrible too. They announce the names to sit down over a speaker, but you can't hear it if you are more than 10 feet away from the poker room. I have seen many pissed off ppl be waiting for 2 hours and miss their call because they could not hear their name.

I honestly do not see Fallsview handling the traffic that the WPT brings, but you never know. I wish I could go, but due to my stopping at the border and no vacation days left I won't even try it.

All I can say is Good Luck Everyone.

I think their heart is in the right place (i.e. they want to give players a lot of play), but this structure is not well designed. I love deep chip play, but starting at 800x BB is largely a waste of time.

In my opinion casino's need to get rid of this 500x BB (and maybe 400x BB) stuff and seriously beef up the "deep chip" play in the 100-300x BB range. For example, here it would be better to have a 75/150 level and a 100/200/0 level in lieu of the 25/25 and 25/50 levels. (note: cost per orbit between levels 3 & 4 goes from $150 to $525, a whopping 250% increase!).

With that said, this is still a better structure than most WPT events.

Who ever started this [censored] of a $4k/$8k game at Fallsview is one dillusional dumb [censored]. First of all Elezra only arrived at 2am and secondly he went to his room not the card room.

It bothers me to see such BS posted by some Idiots who only want to say something for the sake of saying it.

[/ QUOTE ]

do me a favor, there will be a guy dealing the final table his name is Haroon most call him Harry , ask him. My times may be off but the game happened

[/ QUOTE ]

Buddy,

Do yourself a favour and SHUT the FFFFFF up. I was with him from 2am when he arrived to 5am when he went to sleep and HE NEVER PLAYED A SINGLE HAND OF POKER. so get a new source for your BS dialogue.

I do not enjoy being called a liar when I felt my info was acurate, if I was misinformed then I of course appologize however I do wish to clear this up. Will you be there Sunday still? if so I'd be glad to meet you. (meerly to clear it up and maybe say hi)

BTW as for wanting to "say something" in a forum, i couldn't careless about this forum bro, I was just relaying what I heard. There is 0 reason for me to just "make it up"

I wish I was there... if they had split day 1s I would have been there.

Good luck to all 2p2ers left.

From Pokerpages (also showing on Card Player as 2 day 1's):

[ QUOTE ]
Today at noon begins the North American Poker Championship, a $10,000 + $300 CAD NLHE event. Due to the size of the field, this event will have two starting days. Today is Day 1A and they expect to seat about 250 players (there are only 30 tables in the tournament room). Tomorrow will be Day 1B and they will seat about the same amount. All surviving players will come together on Friday for Day 2. Day 3 will be Saturday and then the TV final table taping will be on Sunday.

Lots of pros have been spotted in the house, so this should be a star-studded field. Play will begin shortly after noon so sit tight – this should be an exciting event!

From the WPT's own website:

[ QUOTE ]
There approx 540 players signed up. Day 1 will be broken into two days. 270 players are playing today. The rest tomorrow.

I am calling them again now but they told me that they are only playing one first day...

Just got off the phone with them the second time. They said they are still accepting registration.

If you guys see a 5'6" red haired kid in a Mets hat tomorrow please stop by and introduce yourself

Table 5 Seat 10 for day 1b.

Thanks for letting me know that the first day got split. I hope that will lead to 2p2 earning me well over $1 mil for the weekend.

If you see me, please stop by to say hello?

Donked off 160k chips preflop to newhizzle in my first major misstep of the tournament. Unfortunately, it was also my last, good enough for 80th place.

Man, this is depressing...

in your defense, it is a pretty damn rare occasion that i have a hand as strong as pocket kings, but really, i think you probably could have gotten away a lot cheaper

but at least it went down the way we predicted /images/graemlins/grin.gif

it was fun playing with you, gl, and thanks for the chips! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I busted out in the high 80s. I was in severe shortage of spots to get chips from start to finish, and having a day 2 table with Juanda, Steve Paul Ambrose, and then Brad Booth a couple levels in didn't help.

Does anyone know what the final table viewing policy is? How much seating is available? How early should audience show up? Etc. Etc.
