I bet twice the pot thinking I don't mind winning the pot right now, and if I get reraised I know a higher flush is out there, bad idea???

Later I asked the guy (carpenter) about the hand. I told him I never folded a flush on the flop before, and asked him if he had me beat. He told me he was beaten, but that is not very reliable.

Any thoughts? Oh also only reason I was in this hand is because I just joined the table and posted a BB to get involved otherwise I don't call with 9,3s from middle position (anybody know how to insert the the suits? I just tried and it didn't work)

I believe villian when he says he was beat. They never believe the flush when it is flopped.

Hey Guys,

I really would like some more feedback on this hand. It's been bothering me all day. Anybody think I played it correctly?

Also i still don't know why I wasn't able to use converter or insert the spade suit into my hands, anybody know???

Two pair and a set will make this play. Call.

edit: to ever fold a flopped flush, I have to have one hell of a read.

isn't worrying about flopped flush over flush akin to set over set? If he has a higher flush here i'd go broke every time, more likely he has 2pair or a set trying to protect his hand.

It's not usual that you are beat here. He was in a hurry to get his chips in, that's not consistent with a nut flush.

Most likely he had a hand with some outs against you. KQ/KJ/QJ with a spade. A pair with a high spade. 2 pair. something along those lines. Possibly a set also, though most often a set waits for a non-spade turn card to put his $$ in.

Gentleman, thank you very much for the feedback. Upon reflection I agree also, this was a bad play. I almost never play this timid, but I was playing with my bankroll (until my next paycheck) and I didn't want to go broke on one hand, so I guess I didn't play with heart.

if I had gone bust in this hand though I wouldn't of been able to afford to play the last day and a half and that has brought me about 12 more hours of experience and another $100 or so to my fortunes.

yet all I can think about is the $100, I left on the table in this hand, lesson learned! and I like the analogy about the set over set, because I never worry in that situation about a higher set.

First flop raise is good.... hand being played perfectly..... opponent shoves!!!...... you have 4th nut flush....... and you fold?!

Yeah, this is an insta-call. We all have our misclicks though, you're forgiven.

Don't sit down with your entire bankroll. If you don't have the money at this time, move down in limits.

Never play with your entire bankroll. You should be playing $10 tables with a $100 bankroll.

You can't fold a flopped flush. I expect to see a set or two pair here or possibly a pair plus a big spade, you folded the best hand, and your two spades were playing defense against his lonely big spade or you were doding a pairing of the board....if you can't make this call you can't be at this limit.....you flushed $100 IMO.

Way too often it is a guy trying to protect his set...cant fold. If you are thinking about the money rather than the play itself, you need to play lower stakes.

Keep your financial stuff seperate from your roll. Play the 25s until 400, 50s until 1500, then play the 100s. Variance will seriously kick your ass without a roll.

Good lesson on not only the fold, but also not to play with your whole bankroll
