If this bill is going to get signed by Bush, which it looks lke at this point, what do you all think the main event numbers are going to be since nobody (U.S. residents) can qualify online. Just curious what everyone thinks.

I expect the main event to have around 3,000 players.

some pros are probably happy that this bill has passed, giving them a better shot at a ME title.

This year ~50% of the players came from online satellites and i guess 80% of them were americans. So thats 8773/2*0,80= 3509 players less. But poker is growing still especially outside of usa. I estimate(guess) 30% growth in non-us online-qualifyers for wsop next year and 20% growth in direct buyins. So... (8773/2*1,20)+(8773/2*0,20*1,30)= 6404 players in wsop main event 2007.

i saw a prop bet at pinnacle sports last night...they basically had the over under at around 7800 so if you think it would be far less then 7800 it would be worth making a futures wager for 2007...could really clean up

on a high jack note...i cant believe ive been a memeber since 04 and the last post was my first post...strange...anyway...seriously, im sure the line is still up for the bet and other online books might have um also...i only use pinnacle but you could check others.

I think Bill Frist is going to get the WSOP Cancelled as someone might use their winnings to fund terrorism.
