i'm still in shock about this whole thing. assuming that you ran party, how much money did you just lose (yearly) by allowing this to happen?

i honestly have no idea. 50 million? 10 million?

The number I recall was they made $150M last year from non-American customers. If the US was 70% of their business, you can do the math from that.

Well in the latest 6 months results,

[ QUOTE ]
• Revenues up 51% to $661.9m (2005: $437.4m) with continued growth in poker
and very strong growth in casino; non-US revenues up 151% to $149.8m
(2005: $59.8m)

[/ QUOTE ]

Obv revenue is not earnings etc but long term this will hurt them bad.

You vastly underestimate the earning potential of rake. The yearly total is in the billions for sure.

in the movies, people get killed for a fraction of that. am i really to beleive that online poker, the massive cash cow that it is, will never ressurect in the US? maybe it won't, but i just have a hard time believing that all of that potential earn is gonna go untapped.

What was party's market share wasn't it around 12%? I can't remember the exact number and it was a while back, but figure atleast 1.5 billion a year total....take away 80% for US customers. OOhhh in the neighborhood of 1.2 billion /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I hate the U.S. but not enough to actually KILL someone...jesus

edited to add: the REAL reason I hate the U.S. is actually over Iraq (killing innocent people etc.) not this gay anti gambling stuff.

Doubtful anything would find it's way in Texas, the only gambling done there is bingo! No casinos, etc.

Re: Lebowski. Eliminate the competition, create a few poker sites in ND, legalize and tax those and you have a splendid business model!
