Is there any chance you don't shut down?
There is a chance. We are not panicking and listening to lawyers, lobbyists, banks, competitors, and will decide when the review is completed.
Thanks to a fellow mod for providing this.

It does sound pretty bad, instead of a "we arent shutting down until we fully determine the situation" it's " well there is a small chance we wont shut US out"

not to make an incredibly horrible analogy or anything, but i haven't felt my world this altered since 9/11. i also don't think this ban would have happened without 9/11. the terrorists win again.

9/11 put America into hyperconservative mode politically.
this bill is attempting to strengthen ports against terrorist attacks.
part of the anti-OP argument is based on (idiotic) terrorist money-laundering fears.
the connection is pretty obvious.
