I pulled this from a gambling911.com article. This could be predicting a WTO action from the 'jurisdictions' mentioned below, but it also mentions potential action from the poker sites. What actions could a foreign companies take against this legislation? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

"....according to Gambling911.com sources, some of the larger publicly traded firms and possibly some online gaming jurisdictions are expected to file legal action regarding the passage of this bill."

None that would have any effect.

Lawman,

Why are you still here lurking? If you KNOW that the end of online poker is coming, then why still waste your time reading and posting? Withdrawl your money and go away. Your negativity is just too much to deal with right now.

It's not even that I totally disagree with you, I just don't see what your purpose is here anymore.

Again, this is purely speculation at this point. For months gambling911 and other casino news services have spouted off at the mouth about how this legislation would never pass. We've all seen just how far off base they were, so I won't put much faith into the linked article until I see some real action.

The poker rooms have a strong case at the WTO, because of the carve outs in the Bill.

If they bring a case at the WTO and win, they will have all the justification they need to continue taking US business.

Some may choose to shut out US customers, but only because they particularly fear arrest should executives set foot in the US.

But whoever does stand up and accept US customers will get a ton of traffic from people fleeing the other sites, which in turn will draw players from the rest of the world. This may be the prelude to a major reshuffle of the online poker pecking order.

The greatest risk is the effect this will have on money moving from US banks to the sites. This is the key battleground.

You know nothing about this stuff. Why don't you study some WTO cases, like the latest steel conflict between USA and EU? Also clothing case, banana case,...tons of them.
