In the coming week, please be sure to thank these people who put up a fight against this ridiculous legislation:

Edward Markey 202-225-2836
Jeff Flake (202) 225-2635
Shelley Berkley (202) 225-5965
Barney Frank (202) 225-5931
Loretta Sanchez (202) 225-2965

It is both well deserved and if we hope to have success in the future, these guys may be helpful to our cause.

I am glad there are a few people willing to stand up for what is right!

I literally stood up in my living room and cheered when Markey effectively told the authors of the port bill to [censored] off.

Don't know about a link. I saw it on C-span. I think he was the only Senator to vote "Nay" though I could be wrong.

Jeff Flake voted nay as well, he voted no on this a few years back as well.

Not sure his reasoning.

Are there any written transcripts of what Markey said? I'd love to send an email to say thanks, but I don't want to come off as an idiot.

Hmm, not sure. But the cliff notes version is - this bill is supposed to be about port security, and should not include irrelevant pork barrel legislation such as Internet Gambling issues, so I vote Nay and so should everyone else.

Thanks, I guess that could do.

No, this appears to be something different.

Shouldn't Maxine Waters be on that list?
