Anyone planning on playing the TUnica WSOP Circuit Event? Planning on making the trip from Chicago area and try to advance through a satellite or two. Assume the main event field will not contain many "top pro's" as in the 10K main events of the past. Although there were at least 3 WSOP bracelets playing in the Sept 17th Tahoe event.

Any thoughts on level of competition in the sats?

I'll be getting there late Friday, Sept 29th. As you may know they are running three MTT sats on Sunday.

I'm headed down on Wednesday and playing in the $340 tourney. Not sure how long I'm staying. At least til Friday but if I'm running hot I'll stay for the weekend events.

Going down Thursday to play Friday and Saturday $1000 and $1500 events. May try the Sunday Super Sat for the $5000K buy in depending how my work situation goes this week.

If I can't pull off the additional time away I will just play the $300 buy in they have at the Gold Strike on Sunday.

Based upon phone conversations with the Poker room staff and reservations it looks like they are going to have a record turn out for most of the events.

Good Luck

Flying down from Chicago early, 6:20am flight, tomorrow morning to play in the 1st day event. Don't really know what I will play beyond that, but I'm staying through the first week at the Grand.

The single table sats started today, and they were packed.

do the single table sats advance to the megas, or, to the main?

They probably give you chips that you can use to play in any of their tourney's including SNG's.

I'm headed out to Tunica tomorrow morning to play in the noon $340. Drop me a pm if anyone is going to play in this thing.

Played in the $340 and unfortunately was card dead and couldn't win any showdowns against the shorties. 1500 starting chips sucks. Tons of STT's for tourney chips were running and the fields were weak in the two I played. Got yelled at because 3rd in chips with 3 left wanted to guarantee 3rd place gets $100($120 buy in, $1100 prize pool). Ended up splitting it and parlayed my $500 chip into the $550 mega sat at 7 PM. Only about 20 runners, got crippled when my JJ ran into T8 on a TT8 flop.

There were tons of cash games running, 10/20 NL was running at noon when I got there. Heard they weren't laying out any 1/2 NL. Also, it's a meat locker up in the poker room. Bring a jacket and wear pants.

Watched a little of the FT for Event 2. Some chic named Angel took it down. All I can say is she's officially my new dream girl.

How long were the blind durations in the early events and will the starting stacks and blind durations increase for the $1K and $1.5K events?

I was planning on being there, but had to cancel due to an injury. Good luck to all who make the trip.

They were 40 minutes in the $340. Pretty sure starting stacks are higher for the bigger buy in events. The mega satellites started with 2500 chips and 30 minute blind levels(25/25, 25/50, 50/100, etc).

I just got home. I have a nice new jacket that I had to buy on Tuesday night to avoid freezing to death. This was my first big tournaments outside of my local casino's. I had a bad $340 and went out just before the first break. I then played three $65 9-man sats and lost one and chopped the other two (one for $150 and one for $275). I took 51st in the $500. I never really got a big stack and limped in to 51st. Then last night I played the 2nd chance for $200. I took 5th place out of 174 for $1772. I would have liked to stayed longer, but we already had plans for this weekend.

yep, SNG pay in Circuit Chips...one little detail to keep in mind for any who play these sats....the Tunica WSOP people told me that the chips you win are good only for buy-ins for that Circuit's and that date events only....so, don't pocket these babies at say, Caesars Indiana & hope to use them at Rincon.....they did say that there was a healthy side market in these chips for face value, which surprised me, why pay face for the chips, except of course as a courtesy to fellow poker players holding a chip they can't use, when you can take the cash directly to registration....anyway, I am a newbie at the Circuit events & would appreciate any info on this secondary market in tourney chips

I needed to catch a break and get cash for a $500 chip. I appreciated the nice gesture. I would do the same for another player looking to unload chip(s).

Just wait by the registration area for somebody paying cash for the big event for the day. For example, if the event starts at noon get there about 10 or so and you should have no problem getting rid of the chips.
