View Full Version : Is open limping in small stakes NLHE ever good?

I like to limp with small pocket pairs and sometimes with suited connectors in early or middle position or in late position when there are a bunch of limpers already in the pot. I do so wanting to play these hands in smaller pots that are easier to get away from if I don't hit the flop.

Also, I do so with the thought that I may very well call a small or standard raise (depending on a lot of factors) but I prefer limp-call than raise to begin with because I don't want to be reraised forcing me to fold or invest too much money into a hand that needs a specific flop to be profitable.

Yet, all I hear from those expounding a TAG image is to play hands that you can raise or fold and that any hand you will call a raise with should have been raised to begin with.

Does open-limping in SS NLHE ever not suck?

I limp pockets in EP and I don't see anything wrong with it. I can't open 33 UTG for value and am merely attempting to get a cheap flop which I often do.

Cheaper the better with low set-mining hands like that as far as I'm concerned.
