Played with a complete maniac tonight. Unfortunately the best cards I got against him was AJs. He could raise and reraise with any two, would push all in with junk if he thought you were weak. He could also fold sometimes when strength was shown. The hand went something like this :

Party $100 NL 6-max
Blinds .50/1
I'm in MP with AJs
I open raise to $4
Maniac (button) reraises to $14
all fold to me
I ... ?

we both were well up and had about $200 behind.

At this point I'm very likely to have the best hand, and if I could just get allin I'd love to. The problem is, if I raise or push, he can fold a lot of his worse hands. If I just call, I'm only 33% to hit a pair, and if I don't hit a pair, how can I play after the flop?

I folded and I think I'm giving up a ton of value, but I just don't see how to play it.

Position raise + complete maniac = I would have moved in on him...if he folds, that's fine he's lost $10...if he calls you're still holding decent cards and he's been known to use any two...
