I was thinking about playing in the $500 buy-in NLHE event on the 23rd at the Taj. Was wondering if anyone had played in any of the events so far this year. How big are the fields? How good/bad are the players? Has the Taj cleaned its carpets since 1997?

they are actually removing sections of the carpet and installing tiling

The events don't start until Monday.

anyone plan on playing any of the $300 NL events? Curious about the probable size of the field and can't seem to find an official blidn structure.

I played in a $300 one last year. There were a little over 100 players.

The blind structure was in fairly slow increments and the levels were 45 minutes. Slow it was a reasonably slow structure, much different from the Taj's $300 Saturday tournament. There was a WSOP circuit event in AC at the same time, and people were complaining its structure was too fast, and the Taj's was better.

The level of play was not great. Some ordinary pros and other decent players and a lot of donks or semidonks.

Taj posted the blind structures (http://www.trumptaj.com/index.cfm/nodeID/95039848-6549-4b4b-ac35-e799d5deeaf0/fuseaction/content.page) (Hmm, the link worked and then it didn't.)

(Maybe the above image works?)

If nobody reports in with structures/starting stacks for the sats before Thursday, I'll report my Wednesday night experience.

$130/10% round 1 sat starts with T2000. $235/20% round 1 sat starts at T3000. $1080 ME sat starts at T5000.

Don't really know the blind schedule. I'm under the impression that they all run the same, but different than the schedule I posted above (started at 25/25).

I think, but am not 100% sure, that the ME starts with T20000. That would be sweet.

Thanks for the info. Throughout this year, I have been doing very well (38% ITM and 305% ROI) on the Showboat $40+10s and $50+10s. I'm thinking about entering the $500 buy-in USPC event on Saturday. This would be my first live tourny over $100. Is this too big a jump in stakes? If you guys need more info to answer the question just ask. Thanks!

Further info on the sats. Blinds go 25/25, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 150/300, 200/400, 300/600, 500/1000 ... No antes anywhere in the structure. All the sats (regardless of buyin) use the same structure, just different starting stacks.

I confirmed that the Main Event will have 20k starting stacks and 90 minute levels.
