*cross-posted from B&M forums*

I'm playing the ghetto $600 Omaha hi/lo event early during the Foxwoods WPF (one of their first events, well before the 10K Main Event)

Anyone know what well known pro's I might be able to expect to see (whether they're playing the event or just going to be at the casino that early on the schedule)

Just checked out Foxwoods site - looks like this is the only Omaha event? And not even a pot limit one at that?

Fine by me, last thing I need is a bunch of ultra-lagtards pushing me out of pots, I want to draw cheaply, w00t! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

hmmmmm........

Kind of like someone pushing all-in "blind" (after he announced to you that he would) over your 3x pre-flop raise from EP?

Ha ha, just noticed "forum virus" on your name, cute.

Yeah, quit my job, last Wednesday was my final shift. Playing the 10/20 and 15/30 Omaha hi/lo games online now.

Hitting the $215 HORSE event this Saturday on Stars for the WCOOP. Going to King Richards Faire for our 1-year anniv. coming up shortly, then have the Foxwoods trip for the WPF.

We're on track to get the hell outta Mass and buy a home in NC within the next 2-5 years. Hope all is well with you! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm not going to the WPF this time. The WPT event is a $10,000 event that is four days with no split starting day, scheduled for 15 hours (10AM-1AM) on the first day, and 13 hours (noon-1AM) on each of the next two days. No, thanks.

I have no problem with the hours (they are a positive for me), but I also won't go.

The WPF has the worst blind structure for any 10k event in 2006 (well actually the same as the other Foxwoods $10k event in March), with 22.5hours SC=BB. By way of contrast the WSOP ME had 40hours SC=BB.

To "fix" this event they need to make it five days (minimum) given the large field size.

Hi Steve:

This is not quite as bad as it sounds since most people will be knocked out before completing all those hours. But it is still grueling and does take some of the fun out of things.

Best wishes,
Mason

Steve/Alan/Mason:

Thanks for chiming in guys. Unfortunately, I live in MA, so Foxwoods is the closest choice I have for poker at the moment (aside from online)

I just quit my job recently to play online poker, so hopefully I'll be hitting up Vegas for next years WSOP (dunno about the 10K event, but maybe one of the others)

[/ QUOTE ]Interesting metric. I'd say 22.5 hrs. SC>=BB, or 21.25 hrs. SC>BB. For the WSOP ME, 40 and 38 respectively.

The USPC $9700+300 at the Taj beginning Oct. 3 has an unusual starting structure (SB-BB[/ante]):
1) 25-50
2) 50-100
3) 75-150
4) 100-200
5) 150-300
6) 200-400
7) 200-500
8) 300-600/100
...
The antes in the 8th-15th levels are on the large side, 30-40% of the SB. Thereafter they recede to a more usual 20-33%.

the wpts at foxwoods might be the easiest wpts on the circuit, if not the easiest 10k tournaments all year other than the me wsop. then again, i dont have as much experience as you guys but id say youre missing out.

Good point, the players at Foxwoods are awful (but then again, if the structure isn't conducive to supporting skilled players and lengthy play, and will require more luck, then that only stands to argue against playing the 10K event at Foxwoods because it gives more of an edge to the bad players)

I saw on Foxwoods website that this year you start with 20k in chips. Is this different from previous years? I thought it used to be 10k, but having never played in it, I'm probably wrong.

rather than start a new thread, i like to ask a question for those that are familiar with the upcoming foxwoods wpt event:

are the "acts" the only form of satellite for the 10k? i went to the foxwoods' website and the super-satellite is only for act III tickets and not the 10k seat. i would like to know if there are supers going on straight for the 10k seats. thank you in advance.

I am going to Foxwoods this weekend (If I am not playing any major event online - on Saturday then Saturday else Sunday!!).

I am going to play a couple of SNG before actually starting out playing the acts.

Yes - some of you has asked the Question - Yes acts are the only way to the 10K event unless u want to buy0in for 10K.

If anyone wants to meet up do let me know. This is my first post here, so I am not sure if there is any PM messaging available.

Closer to the event they typically run a few $200ish supers. But only a few. They also run lots of STTs at a variety of buyins up to $1K.

Looks like there's a possibility I may be blogging this event. Should be fun if I get to do it.
