Anyone know what happen to the proposed North American Poker Tour. They were supposed to have their first tourney at the Hollywood Casino this month. Is this dead?

It was supposed to start today, according to their website. I'll guess there's still no TV deal (or buying TV time as Oliver would suggest). The next scheduled tournament is at Seneca Niagra in October just before the two WPT events in Niagra Falls, Canada.

I never thought that the NPA/IPA/NAPT ever had raised enough money to cover start-up costs to be able to do what it said it wanted to do.

It is best to lay this dog to rest.

The TV poker world in 2006 is dramatically different compared to 2004 or 2005: big TV networks won't pay CASH anymore for any more tournament poker products after old contract have expired.

Not even Harrah's got a penny of cash from ESPN for the 2006 WSOP Main Event.
