where's the article where sklansky said it's profitable to move in with AK preflop, even if you turn your cards faceup?

there is absolutely no way this is profitable.

Well, I guess that settles it then.

P.S. There is absolutely no way it is unprofitable under all conditions.

the thing that makes no sense to me is one of three things would occur.

A. opponents fold, win small pot....the blinds.
B. Guy with under pair decides to gamble as a slight favorite....you are a slim long term loser here.
C.Guy with KK, AA, or AK suited calls you....huge loser.

Also this makes no reference to position. Obviously, on the button, you will win the blinds a huge portion of the time, making it a more profitable endeavor. But if you are UTG, there are 8 chances for someone to have caught one of your trouble hands.

I think he's talking about HU poker. They discuss this in detail in his book

This details how many bb's you need in hu poker to move in with your hand face up and still be profitable.

David treats this topic in the concepts and weapons section of his new NL book, where he runs the numbers and such assuming your ahnd is face up. In reality though your hand wont be face up which makes moving in with AK preflop the best move in many situations (depending mainly on stack sizes) as your opponent will be incliend to fold most low to medium pairs in fear of being a 4-1 dog. Also some players might put you on a pair and call with a hand like AQ hoping to snap you off with a coin flip (more likely in tournaments).
I consider this a better move than caling or raising to see a flop since opponents with hans like JJ or QQ will be hesitant to pay off if an A or K flops and will often make it too expensive too see another card when it dosnt. One major exeption is when you are playing versus unskilled oponents who will let you win a big pot when you both flpo one pair and they ahve something like AQ or AJ. If Im playing with these players I am more incliend to take a flop in an attempt to win a big pot. Otherwise AK is most profitable preflop when u have FE so i usualy push my edge then.
Ok i guess thats enough from captain obvious.

Perhaps you mean this one

or rather this one

It's about whether you should prefer going all-in pre-flop from the small blind against the big blind only, rather than fold. This obviously depends on the size of your stack.
