The title of this post comes from a conv. btw jeff and andy in the last stars tourney:

AndyB: you sure do LOL it up a lot.

I played 5 hands today and won 3 of them, and then went to work..

Well, I called here and won, but was it still a bad call? My opponent here is obviously a loose fish. Not incredibly loose, and not incredibly terrible in the past, but I think he typically loses his buy in.

Third street was horrible, right?

I really think my call on 6th sucked here.. I mean, how does that 2 help him..

Hand 3 - raise 6th. I'd hate to get 3-bet, but he probably just doesn't give you credit for aces up. If you were against a better player just call since he will not pay you off.

Hand 3: Why not raise with your queens and ace kicker? And since you just called the bring-in, why raise after T/images/graemlins/diamond.gif completes? I think you raised to face A/images/graemlins/club.gif with 1.5 best cold?

Lol. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hand 1: Looks ok. I may raise 6th since his hand seems to be more likely two pair than trips and it will usually cost the same as calling him down since a reraise w/o trips is unlikely (plus you gain an extra bet if you improve).

Hand 2: I probably raise 4th.

Hand 3: Just raise third straight off and hope to be reraised. It's amazing to me how many people think AA is the nuts in stud - the better expectation comes from raising. Remember, two bets from two people pays the same as one bet from four and maximizes your expectation. Also, even if your move works and you trap a bunch of people for multiple bets, GL getting them to make math errors on later streets and please don't complain if you brick off and their 6's and 3's or whatever takes you down.

After that, 4th and 5th are ok. But then you miss a CLEAR raise on 6th. Charge this donk since he wants to dance and won't give you credit for two pair.

First hand looks fine to me. I think the river call is player dependent obviously, but it looks like a good call against this one.

2nd hand: I might complete this on third, but I also can see good arguements for limping. I think you have to raise fourth. Yeah it gives away your hand, but you still need to get in the most out of you expectation. Sometimes they will check it to you when you catch a fifth heart on fifth or sixth street anyway.

Third hand: I don't mind the limp on third if you really think the guy has kings. I'd imagine in this game that he would probably complete with kings though. If I thought he was limping with something else, I would just plain complete it and try to iso. him. As it worked out, you might have gotten a few extra bets and still got the hand heads up. I would raise 6th everytime. I just don't see how that 2 helps him at all. If he three bets you, time to put on the breaks, but i wouldn't until I'm forced to.

Hand 1 even vs morons you usually lose money on that river call.

Hand 2 I'd raise 3rd, were you going for the limp-reraise? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hand 3 you should raise 3rd and 6th.

Thanks for the responses so far..

Mike, I kind of thought i wanted to keep this multiway on fourth. (although knocking out that King might be a good idea and give me a good shot of winning with my Q and T over cards.) Hmmmmmm.. what do you think?

That's a concept used a lot in stud8, but one that I think applies here as well. I think if you can get the K to fold, your equity goes up quite a bit and will allow you to win w just a pair sometimes as you said. I guess it depends on wether you'd rather win a big pot once in a while, or a bunch of smaller ones more frequently. I think raising fourth is the best play though IMO.
