What are the origins of "bonii" and "boni" on the forum here?

Is it some kind of inside joke kind of thing ala supbro, SIIHP, etc? Or do people actually think the plural of bonus is something other than bonuses?

Sorry, not trying to be a grammar nit, just kind of curious about something stupid. For all I care people can use whatever they want as the plural of bonus, just got to wondering about it and now I don't know whether the misusage is intentional or not.

The word "bonus" is originally Latin, and the plural in Latin is "boni". Maybe people think the are smart when they use it.

The plural "bonii" is even more retarded, since it isn't even a Latin plural.

it's intentional zoospeak, though definitely not as favored as other 2+2 isms.

I remember a funny thread where Party revoked a reload offer and cries of "they yanked my bonii" were rampant.

it was also better back when when reloads occured more frequently on the major sites, and when Party had 6 skins instead of 2.

bonii is the plural form of bonum. Note that the singular refers to an incentive for depositing, not something you want to do with the US Bet girls.

yes, "sicker." my thoughts exactly.

I've been confused as well by the use of "boni(i)." However, I was not surprised since about 3/4 of the posters seem to think the word 'definitely' has an 'A' in it.

I don't know who came up with "bonii," but that is just retarded. I had a good laugh about that with a couple of friends who know Latin. Why don't we just call them bon-bons? Or buenos?

We need a convenient way to distinguish the snobby illiterates from the intellectuals. People thinking "bonii" is a word in any language are quite easily classified.

I am confused as to what you mean. Wouldn't someone who thinks it is actually a word be illiterate, but not necessarilly a snob?

And itsn't it OK for an intellectual to use a term that is not actually a word but also has deveoped a meaning behind it, albeit one that is not clear to everyone?

And if an intellectual gets upset about someone using a term that is not actually a word but is recognized to have meaning within a subgroup of people, couldn't said intellectual be classified as a snob?

Bonii is a word I enjoy using whether it is a word or not.
It's fun to say.
And I, for one, and am not very easily classified at all.
