I have just done the latest update for Poker Stars and when you go into Cashier and then check your bonus status, there is something new...

The words "Expiration Date" now appear in the bonus window. Looks like they are going to start making us clear our bonuses quicker than we want.

Didn't they double the clearing rate as well?

If Stars ever offered anything close to how great Party's bonuses are I'd leave Party without hesitation. I guess all their donkament players don't care about bonii.

Well there goes two years of bonuses I had waiting for me until I get high enough to where they clear at an ok rate (they clear not so good at 50c/1)...dang.

I have 2 still to clear and the expiration date is showing as "none" so i guess it's only on new bonues - you will be able to clear your backlogged ones in your own time by the looks of it /images/graemlins/smile.gif

This is terrible news. Stars bonuses cleared SLOW AS HELL at 5x. Now they're trying to pass them off at 10x AND give them expiration dates?

**** that!

Problem with that is you won't be able to complete new bonuses since they'll expire long before you ever finish your previous ones. Anyone who plans on clearing future Stars bonuses better grind away their backlog ASAP.

Still means I won't be able to get the new ones, but better than nothing.

Wonder why they started doing this. And wonder how long they will give people to clear them.

I would guess that they want bonus's to increase the activity of an account, not just deposit, wait 48 hours, cash out that alot of people do because they can't clear the bonus.

Yeah, realized that after I posted. I'm sure they can solve that a better way though.

The better way to solve is ease up on the clearing requirements!

I personally would love if, like SunPoker, they would give you a quarter of a point for hands raked .25-.99.

Makes a huge difference and would allow low limit players to have a realistic chance of clearing it sometime this decade

i've asked lee jones here and emailed pokerstars about this many times, being a low level NL player i get completely screwed on FPPs. they never gave more than a automated response or tried to fix it. so [censored] them, i never play at stars anymore

True. Half/quarter points would be nice.

This isn't neccessarily a bad thing, if it leads to decreased clearances and or more frequent offers I'm all for it. I'm not getting my hopes up though.

Stars has regular reload bonuses, about 4-5 a year over the last couple years. Usually 20-25% to a $120-150 max. In the past, they have all been non-expiring and 5x to clear.

The last one was June 2006, 20% with a $120 max, but for the first time I have ever seen, it had a 7X clearing requirement. That one had no expiration date.

So I'm guessing that more reloads are on the way, but with 7X or higher clear requirements, and with expiration dates.

If they were to go back and change the expiration date policy of bonii already given I would withdraw and leave. That is a shady business practice.

Total pot has to be $10 or more to get a point. $1/$2 is the lowest limit game where clearing it is really practicable.

If you play SnGs or tournaments, that can be the best way for a low level player to clear bonuses at Stars. You get 5 points per $1 tournament fee paid (SnG or MTT). So a $11+1 Sng earns 5 points, $22+2 SnG earns 10 points, etc. On a percentage basis, the $5+0.50 regular or $6+0.50 turbos are even better. The $0.50 fee should earn 2.5 points, but they round it up to 3.

Under the old 5X requirement, this was basically 100% rakeback on tournaments, and over 100% on the $0.50 fees. But I suspect there aren't going to be any more 5X bonuses at Stars.
