Some stats guy might be able to chime in and give some advice on the differences between playing 11 handed versus 10 versus 9. But the assumption I heard today were that we were starting 11 handed. So I assume that means we have more than 8000 entrants.
Feel free to chime in with what playing 11 handed is like as I've never done it. With the stuff I saw today in the satellites I'm not too worried. A short stack reraising and then getting called by AK who was getting 2 to 1 to call, and then the shortstack beratin the AK hand saying he was a horrible player (even though his pair of Jacks held up). My buddy just laughed and licked his chops.
