Man this place was huge! You had a little Bodog house with hot chicks on both floors looking bored as hell, you had a pickup truck full of baseballs at Absolute Poker, you had one of the new dealerless automated tables for 9 players that didn't work correctly the entire day, and lots more!
Pokeroom, Hollywood, Paradise, and AP were pimpin it with the biggest booths. Paradise had lots of hotties in and around the booth. Hollywood and PR had a few, as did AP. Doyle and Mad Genius were signing autographs at Doyle's Room booth. Party Poker had some really terrible holdem showdown type of gimmick on a blackjack table to win some lame ass prizes. 6 players get a hand, whomever comes out on top after the board is dealt wins.
Greg Raymer was signing autographs at the Stars booth, and there were 10 laptops setup for "Battleship" Holem. Yes, 1 on 1 facing each other!
They had a booth for Full Contact Poker with SNG's to produce a final table where one person would become the next DN Protoge. Chris "Jesus" Ferguson was participating in a Cardplayer challenge on the stage, where people who won entries were flown to Vegas to compete in a 7 (or 8) handed game of NL Texas Holdem on the new Xbox 360 WSOP Tournament of Champions Video Game. The game featured the interactive camera built into the screen so you can see your oponents playing, just like in RL. Winner gets a ME seat.
There were some other no name poker sites, another one that is going to launch in September, PKR was there, lots of meaningless vendors such as sports and boots (??)
We even had our buddy Bart and the Live at the Bike Crew all setup for a broadcast today and throughout the weekend. We stopped by and chatted with him. Tuchman couldn't find his keys and was about 4 hours late getting there! /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Harrahs wasn't allowing anyone to give out the free schwag this year. No shirts, no books, nothing. I was able to snag a few chips or chip covers here, and a few magazines that were being given out, but those you can get free all the time anyways.
Just to get to the main poker room, you HAD to go through the convention to get there. Security had the main hallway roped off and man, there were a LOT of kids there! Although they weren't allowing them into the convention room, thank god.
