Exclusive Report: Mason Malmuth to Play in 1st WSOP Main Event

At dinner tonight, I got some surprising news from Mason. Mason is finally going to take a bit of time away from the Two Plus Two Publishing empire and play in this year's WSOP Main Event.

The news came as a shock to me. Mason is always commenting about how busy the business keeps him. In particular, he's often said how little he's been able to play in the past couple years during the poker explosion because 2+2 has published so many new books and sales have increased exponentially. While he enjoys his work, Mason always sounds like he wants to get back to the tables.

This will actually be Mason's first WSOP Main Event. He's played in a few tournaments before but cash games have always been his thing. Mason doesn't even have a profile on Hendon Mob.

Mason will be playing on Day 1A (Friday, 7/28)

I'm with Matusow on this one...guys like Caro, MM, DS, etc..have written millions of books and are so called "experts", but they haven't won a tournament in 10 years. How do you get that gig?
