You do realize there is no "typically" since last year was the first time it ever happened, right? It could be 8 hours, it could be 14 hours.

Last year we played 6.5 levels to go from 1950 to 650. However, those were only 100 minute levels. My best guess this year is that we will play 5.5 to six levels to go from 2000 to 800 on two hour levels.

For me?

Approximately 3 hours or one busted nut flush draw, whichever comes first.

Last year it started at 11am and we were done bagging chips at about 2am.

I'm pretty sure this "play down to 800 players on each Day 1" is a mistake. I believe they were playing a set number of levels within each flight, regardless of how many players remain at the end of each.
