Who else is playing? Also, everyone who's in town: let me know via pm if you want to meet up, I get in around 10pm Sunday night.

I'll be playing. And contributing. I'm such dead money.

I won one of the Full Tilt Bracelet Race tourneys. In Omaha/8, actually. But I've won more Stud/8 tournaments--- $10s and $20s at Stars--- so I figured I would suck least in this event.

I want to play but the 1k rebuy may take precedence.

I will most likely do it.

I played last year. The structure was so bad, I never really got anything going on. I think I was out not long after the first break (and I'm a tight player).

I hope they fix things up a little better this year. It really isn't a one day event, and shouldn't be pushed into something like that.

I'm not playing any events this year, nor have I looked at the structure, so I have no idea if things are better with this event or not (I assume they are, because it seems other supposed "one day" events were lengthened).

Good luck to those who are playing, and if I had to give one piece of advice, I'd say, "accumlate chips, early and often."

Obviously, by hour 3 you need to start catching some cards. Let's say you get cold-decked and essentially blind off for the first 2 hours. By the beginning of the third hour, you are sitting at a 30/60 table with about $800 left. Not good.

Also, I'd be willing to bet that the play is going to be SUPER slow because dealers aren't going to know how to deal this event and how to read hands, so make sure you are fairly vocal and maybe even "captain" the table to move hands along. Seeing > 25-30 hands per hour is going to be essential.

Much better than last year. I think we started at 30/60 with 1k in chips.

And yes, the dealing was agonizingly slow.

It does list that, but some of the other 1k tournaments (starting with the Ladies tournament I believe) were changed to $1,500 in chips.

I have been told that this is a misprint, and that there is actually a $15 dealer ante on the first round. But who knows.

I'm also curious whether they will start with 1500 chips like they did after the Ladies kicked up a fuss.

How the hell would this event start with a $15 ante?!?! that would make zero sense.

A $15 dealer ante. Each player puts in the $15 ante for the whole table, in turn, instead of having a $2 ante from each player and having to use $1's. So there is $20 in the middle after the bringin, which is a more reasonable amount than $45 for the first level.
