View Full Version : 78s on the button, big mess on the turn

This hand immediately followed a big hit to my stack, leaving me relatively shortstacked. I do realize I should have raised from the button to increase implied odds. On the turn I figured myself for about 17 outs and was willing to go all-in.

Should I have been wiser and folded to the initial turn re-raise?

This is not true. This has been discussed many times. It has been discussed about even better hands like QJs (in a NL game) on the button and summarily proven bad. A simple reason that comes to mind is that you can expose yourself to a limp-reraise from AA/KK and even stuff like AK and medium pocket pairs that now see a pot in front of them to raise into.
