I know this is a dumb question tho. But I see the execs getting sued and arrested. Are we in danger of the same? There are so many of us I dont see them going after us right off the bat..I dont even know if its possible.

I just dont want to get sued..so i guess I should stop.

If you are refering to us as poker players online it might depend upon the state you are in but in most cases yes we are fine. the laws on the books and those attempting to be enacted are for the operators of online gaming sites and not the participants. but remember if this new bill gets passed into law don't get caught with your pants down and money in the poker or neteller accounts. i imagine if the bill passes and is signed it would go into effect on a specific date such as jan 1, 2007.

It sounds though that comcast can deny us service if they see we play though--I hope I'm wrong about that though. They have a monopoly in my area.

I believe we will have ample time to withdraw our funds. If you read the articles surrounding the BetonSports incident the US government is telling BetonSports to basically "cash everyone out" - giving back the money to all of their US based customers. It seems like it is in the best interest of the government to make the sites give back everyone's money if they want to do damage to the site. If they just cut off funding immediately the sites just get to keep all of our money - which over the long run would still hurt them but at least they get a nice "severence package."

do you really think an overseas company is just going to give back peoples money? not likely

If they want to keep the business of those players not in the US they will. If it leaks out that a particular room screwed a million of their players, the rest aren't going to play there. That would be a horrible business move on the part of the poker room/casino. Then again, some of the establishments seem to have no common sense and you may have an issue, but not with major ones.

it is a broadband monopoly ginko, many people don't live close enough for DSL, and dialup sucks for stability and speed

actually - poker on dialup isn't bad at all. never had much trouble playing when on vacation. although that was just for two weeks at a time, but still.

Dial-up is perfectly reliable (in general) and you cannot tell any difference in speed as it pertains to playing online poker, no matter how many tables you play at one time.
