How are 2+2ers doing in this event?

Nath has 2375 chips early and is (or was) sitting at Barry Greenstein's table.

I am still in at dinner but short. Colson has a big stack and TJ Cloutier on his right also with big stack. about 350 left I think.

I'm still in at break but only down to 10 bbs. after the 2nd break I was probably among the chipleaders with around 20k but proceeded to get sucke out left and right including a big hand to the ful tilt guy who talks tohis hand with qq to kj.

I was knocked out in Level 4. The hand where I lost 70% of my chips was at Level 3 (50/100). I get As Kc in middle position. I raise to 325 and get 1 caller. Flop comes 10 high all spades. Check to me and I bet 350. Other player goes all in. I figured I had 15 outs. I called and my opponent shows Qs Js. I do not hit and am down to 500. I double once and then get KO'ed shortly into round 4.

At least the 2/5 NL games are going well....

Out shortly after dinner. When I got back I had 3500ish and two hand before BB hit me again, so I was planning to push anything decent. First had 93o, second hand T4o. Boo!

Blinds go through. My backup plan at dinner was for this guy who raised like crazy to open in front of me and for me to push knowing I had no FE but get a flip with the 1100 chip overlay in the pot from blinds and antes. It worked as planned. He opened, I shoved from LP with 2600ish and QJo, he had to call with 44. I just forgot to win the flip.

GL to Colson and anyone else left. Carl had about 12k I think when I left with 400 big blind. TJ's stack was pretty big on his right.

I'm to the left of Ari now, and already doubled up through him. I've got a bit over 20k now at the last break before we go home.

Wow there are some sick names left in this event, only about 4 players out of 26 left that I don't recognize the name.

What's your name UFC Thayer?

colson10 is the chip leader with 24 players left. A bunch of donks left, like Sklansky, Mizrachi (x2), Corkins, Cunningham, JC Tran, Seed. And a guy named Jordan Morgan (ims0lucky...or whatever it is) is currently seventh. Woo.

Edit: Actually more than 24 people left...about 150. CardPlayer only has 24 chip counts listed though.

Colson and Imsolucky0 running 2 and 3 going into day 2. Oh yea and that donkey Sklansky that posts here sometimes is 11th.

Just found this while reading through the updates:

WTG Cardplayer /images/graemlins/heart.gif /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Bill Gazes raises all-in for $5,200 from early position pre-flop. A player in mid-position calls, and Carl Olson, with a stack of $70,000, raises an additional $15,000. The other player folds, and Gazes and Olson flip over their cards. Gazes has J10 while Olson has KK. The flop comes Q94, giving Gazes a straight draw as well as a runner-runner spade draw. The turn is the 6 and the river is the 5, and Bill Gazes is eliminated in 165th place. Carl Olson is up to $5,200 in chips.

as far as fashion goes, why don't you post a pic of the stuff you wear on a regular basis, because i've gotten a few comments already and since the people i know in reality think i dress well i will consider their opinions more hihgly than those of the people who play poker on the internet and see pictures of me on the internet

helluva tactic -

Tue Jul 18 22:00:00 PDT 2006
Joe Tehan Makes a Great Call....Almost
The board reads K42K10 and there is $18,000 in the pot. Jose Raul Severino pushes all-in for another $17,000 against Joe Tehan in late position. Tehan thinks for several minutes before saying, "This could be the worst call I've ever made." Severino jumps out of his chair and points to Tehan, saying "He said call, he said call!" The table agrees that Tehan did not say call, only that he might call. Tehan thinks it over for a few more minutes and finally folds 55 face up. Severino immediately jumps up and throws the Q3 on the table for the missed flush draw. After the hand, Severino is up to $35,000 and Tehan is down to $23,000.

hehe, sorry i missed the reference. i can be a little culturally unaware at times. not that there's anything wrong with that.

Looks like UCF Thayer is out:

Wed Jul 19 19:37:00 PDT 2006
Thayer Rasmussen Eliminated in 33rd Place ($8,706)
The pre-flop action is folded around to Thayer Rasmussen in small blind, who pushes all-in for about $55,000. Mats Rahmn, in the big blind, calls instantly without asking for a count. Rasmussen flips up 9/images/graemlins/club.gif8/images/graemlins/spade.gif, and Rahmn flips up A/images/graemlins/heart.gif10/images/graemlins/heart.gif. The flop comes 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif5/images/graemlins/heart.gif2/images/graemlins/heart.gif, leaving Rasmussen drawing very thin. The turn and the river are the A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif and the 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, and Rasmussen is eliminated. Rahmn is up to $177,000 in chips.

I'm assuming that's UCF.

Nath, here is a pretty good link regarding some of the shirts you've worn: http://www.phat5.com/features.asp?StoryID=239&SectionID=11
That's not to say that all of them are bad, but the key is choosing a more subdued one.

Hmm. Apparently event #28 is now the 2+2 fashion thread.

I felt like I played really well today, I'm sure Ari would back me up on that. Early on I was pretty short, but then I doubled up with AK to AJ. So now I had chips to work with so I could play JINXY MONKEY style, and proceeded to run over the table somewhat. I got hit in the face with cards early on too, so was able to build my stack up alot, and was even chip leader for awhile.

Then, it was all downhill. I kept on getting involved with short stacks and lost, losing races and quasi-races left and right. One time the button pushes all in on my BB for 13k, blinds were 1500/3000 (antes 400). So auto call with my k5.... of course he has kk!

Eventually I was involved in a huge pot that really crippled me. Blinds were 2k/4k 500 ante, and it was folded around to me in late position. I look down at 66, and made it 15k, button pushes for 55k total. I was pretty confident it was an autocall for me(please chime in if you think otherwise) and unfortunately he had AA, and he PWNED me leaving me pretty short(10 bb's).

All in all I guess I can't complain too much as I entered the day pretty short, though for the 2nd WSOP event in a row I was in great position to do something big and choked.

Maybe I should change my name to ATL_BRAVES.

slightly pedestrian, but casual and comfortable are virtues too and if that's what you want then go with it. the red t-shirt underneath is a nice touch.
