Second chance entry if no events played in the WSOP?

Hey all...Read the "Second Chance" thread in the FAQ but it didnt really say. Can I play a second chance event even if I have played no other WSOP events?

I have read whatever I can find and it says you need a WSOP card.

Just confused...any help?

2nd chance events are daily tournaments at the Rio during the WSOP. You don't have to play in that day's WSOP event to play in those tournaments.

Yup...I played in one last year, and did not play in any event.
