Registering

I understand that in addition to registering for a particular event you have to get a players card (or something like that). Last year I heard this was a nightmare before the main event. ANyone know if they've improved the process?

well... it would be easy as pie to walk in and get a card right now. No idea how many idiots will be waiting to do so right before the event starts. However, they do have a rewards card counter set up right outside the tourney area. I think it will be very easy this year.

The whole thing seems a lot smoother this year. The players card is really just a Harrah's reward card (i.e. if you already have one of those for some reason, you can use it)

it's right outside the tournament room. you can do it in one minute if you go during offpeak hours.

I walked up to the Harrah's desk and asked to buyin. They sent me to the cage. I went to the cage, they told me to go back to the desk and get a Harrah's reward card. It took about 2 minutes for them to get it to me and I bought in. The process was a piece of cake.

I played in 2 events last year and didn't have to get any kind of players card.

I have no idea why you guys say you needed to get one.

yes you do need to get one. No it won't be a problem at all. You can get one at any of 5 or 6 casinos at any time.
