It does blow, it's hard to think about the long long run at times but that's all you can do.

I don't mind busting casinos...it's just that I made it throught the 4000 for the initial deposit, then talked to CS and found out i needed to clear 500 more for the refer a friend. Then I lost 130 in the blink of an eye. All the grind for the first 4000 just to have a god awful run at the end.

I just lost $1,800 chasing the $100 sands of the caribbean monthly.. Variance does suck!

You guys are silly. Variance is great. It's what allows casinos to exist. Poker too. So what if you bust a bonus. I bust 3/4 of the bonuses I play. Why? 'Cause I embrace variance, and it is +EV to play bonuses in a high variance way. It might suck when you've only done five or ten casinos, but once you're done a few hundred bonuses, you just don't care about the swings as much.

Same as a player who just moved up to a new limit might hate a -50BB day, but a guy who's been there for a while? Whatever, he'll get it back.

How big are you betting, I am curious because I want to up my bets since I actually want to cash at fewer casinos. Also your roll size would help out too, just so I can make calculations. PM me if you don't want to post.

I've lost about 2k clearing CarSands before. I typically clear it using either $35-50 single table blackjack, or 4-line Double Bonus, often with $1 coins.

Increasing variance as casinos of this type (bonus given AFTER wagering) is not +EV, however. It's just faster.

Exactly it doesn't matter how much you bet as in the long run the +ve is the same. I flatbet 5-10 at bj and always worry I will get the upswings at the $5 lol even though over time blah blah blah.

Playing blackjack when you can play Pontoon, single-deck blackjack, or Double Bonus is -EV though. Certainly not very -EV, but a little none-the-less. Especially when Pontoon's rules are simpler than blackjack anyhow. (ie. You can learn to play it faster.)

No, negative variance blows. Positive variance kicks ass. Just whored VIP Casino's $50 signup bonus with 1500 WR. I bet $10 per hand for about half of it then changed to $5. Ended up cashing out $177 for a profit of $127 in 45 minutes. Good day.

Betting big kicks ass because if I bust it's not a big deal and I figure I have just as much of a chance as doubling up as I do busting.

Finally, someone who gets it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bet $25/hand on Starluck and $50/hand on Casino-on-Net, and I still think that's too little.

Lol that is what we are all trying to say. If you have the roll there is no reason to grind out the mini bets, my time is worth more than that.
