Reading books for the last couple of weeks and want to practise new plays on an offline game. Anyone know of a reasonably accurate game?? Even if it costs a bit....

TurboTexas Hold'Em gets decent reviews, but looks like butt. It's expensive, too.

I say you play .5/1. I know it's real money, but the games are soft enough to build a bankroll and still goof around.

Poker Academy (http://www.poker-academy.com/) is probably what you're looking for. There is a Standard ($29) and Pro version ($129) available.

Caveat: I work for Poker Academy, but if you search these forums or online you can find lots of reviews. We also have a free demo version you can try out.

Cheers,
Aaron

go with Poker Academy Pro.

-tremendous ring and tourney simulations; and the settings are variable to suit your needs
-learning/adaptive AI bots
-excellent, in-depth player analysis tools
-competitive, supportive online community; PA online players treat their "play" chips like real money
-number of online players growing every day, to the point that additional online rooms have been added to accommodate traffic
-PA software developers actually play online with customers, and your opinion about their software actually counts

Although the Pro version is more expensive, I can say that the enhanced analysis tools have helped me to fix holes in my game...PA Pro has made me a better, smarter player. No B.S., I have more than made up the cost of the software just dominating my weekly home game, way more...Go Pro. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Poker Academy is a great simulation software. It has helped my game greatly, especially my NL game. I highly recommend it.
