I was half-tempted to make a 'Walking from the Rio to the Rio. Is it doable?' thread.

But I think that would be very un-mod-like of me.

I don't know where Boulder Station is but I'm always looking for incentives/reasons to stay in shape.
If it's 5 miles or less I'll take you up on that $50 IF I'm able to make it out there during the WSOP (still undetermined)

I think it's in Boulder, which is by the Hoover Dam. So you should bet $5000, not $50 /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

No, it's on Boulder Highway maybe 1/2 mile north of Flamingo. You'd walk to flamingo and then walk about 8 miles (?) to the Rio. Definitely "doable" but I'd need a lot more than $50!

It's about 10-12 miles for this walk.

11.06 Miles according to this map, although you won't want to walk the highway, lol. This is the fastest driving trip. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

i want to bet somebody from mapquest that they can't do that drive in 12 minutes during the daytime (either DI all the way to Valley View or the Freeway).

Btw, Boulder Station has a sweet lunch special at the mexican restaurant. 2-item combo with a maragarita or soda for $8. And the salsa bar is good!

I would take you up on this IF you could give ma a good reason to even go to BOULDER STATION in the first place------

You give me a ride to Boulder Station, and I'll walk it for $50.

It's doable, only if you're a crazy aggresive driver like me.

Once got from around Boulder Station (I live in the vicinity, all the way on the east end of DI), to Excalibur, using the highway route, in 14 minutes flat.

During the day.

(Yeah, I used the emergency lane that starts at the Flamingo exits and goes straight to the Trop exit.)

Yep, Boulder is the only place in town.

Other alternatives:
Sunset Station in Henderson sometimes spreads it. GVR is trying to get the game back, they're actually competing with Sunset for this game. Why, I have no clue. Once again, games only run if people are willing to play them. This goes for all casinos but once people get settled into one joint or another, they tend to stay there.

Shhhhhhhhhhh... edit your post and make no mention of that game again.

$50 is too little. This is not that hard a walk but it's going to have to be worth more than $50 for me to take the time to do it. Make it $5k, but they have to carry you in the Snuggly from "Help! My Baby is an Ugly Man."
