Hypothetical situation:

A WSOP seat was won on pokerstars! Unfortunately, the seat was won on another family members account. Anyway stars would allow you to transfer the wsop seat to another family member.

If not, are there any super good excuses that would allow stars to
-transfer the seat to another family member
-sell it
-credit the account with $W

I am sure if someone is clever enough, they could come up with the right excuse...
I.E.
What happens if the person won the seat dies? Would it be +EV to kill a family member over a wsop seat?

This is all clearly spelled out on the PokerStars website. The seats are non-transferable. The person whose account the seat was won on is the person who must play in the event. The only way you can get $W is if you win a second seat. You cannot get $W for the first seat that you win.

http://www.pokerstars.com/wsop/faq/

"DO NOT PLAY IN POKERSTARS SATELLITES IF:

• You cannot attend WSOP
• You are under the age of 21 See the exception
• You are playing on someone else's account

Q: Can I sell (or otherwise transfer) the first package I win for the event?

A: No. Please do not play in the satellites if you can't attend the event. If you win your first package in a satellite for the event, but for any reason are unable to attend the event, your package will be forfeited without compensation to you."
