View Full Version : Best way to clear a 500FPP bonus on Pokerstars with $100?

I was enticed by the email I received from Stars to finally deposit some money to get their 100% bonus, it's only a $50 one, but I also get the 20% reload too. Anyway, I have a bankroll of $100 on Stars now, and need 500FPP for the 100%, and 70FPP for the 20%. I normally play $11 Speed NL SNG's on Party, and I'm ok at 6max and FR NL cash at the $25NL level. Any recommendations as to the fastest way to clear the FPP's? I just deposited today, it doesn't say when I have to be finished, but the code was FirstJune2006. How long do they give you to clear it.. end of June?

Thanks,

It doesn't expire.

Bonus never expires, you have forever to clear it.

Wait until Double-FPP time, and then deposit a lot more money and play your SNGs. If you play $25NL you'll need forever to clear the bonus, even at double FPPs.

They've only done double FPP once.

Next double will probably be at hand 10B.

My guess is either Christmas or next March. So 6-9 months, somewhere in there. Go clear a bonus at one of the many other sites that has better clearance rates than PokerStars, and save PokerStars.

Of course if you love Stars just play there and don't wait, but I say whore it up and go do another bonus.

That's not true. They also had a double FPP period at Christmas 2005.

Why more money? You don't get 2xFPP's unless you deposit again or is there another bonus that comes along at the same time?

Play the $3.40 turbo SNGs. $100 is an adequate bankroll. They are easy, and the FPPs come at a decent pace compared to ring games. You will probably be able to move up to a level or two higher before clearing the bonus though, assuming you're a winning player.

Fudge, I forgot to deposit for the reload. Wasn't thrilled about the new requirements though. At the stakes I play, I haven't seen a $60 pot since I visited the cookware section at Bergdorf Goodman.

Play 2/4 limit, bonus clears really fast /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Keep in mind that with tourney buyins that are less than $1, they round up the value to the nearest point. For example, at the 5.50 SNG's you earn 3 points rather than 2.5, which can add up over time. This makes it a particularly good way to earn the bonus for someone with only $100.

There have been several double FPP times. The previous time was 12/25/05-12/31/05. Before that, they had double FPP hours a few times, e.g., 3PM-4PM and 10PM-11PM Eastern several days in a row.
