Which is more profitable, whoring or playing at wpex with no rake?

great question. usually the consensus is that bonus is better than any rakeback deal, but no rake? i would like to hear some expert opinion on it

I think the obvious answer is both.

A lot of bonuses are better than 100% RB.

Bonus whoring where the bonuses are over 100% rakeback. Then play at WPEX.

I'd even play at site with 60% rakeback but are a fish pond than play tight games at WPEX.

I think you have to look at what sites best suit your game. If you can get rakeback and bonuses that come out to 80% rakeback then it may very well be more profitable for you to play that game if it best suits your game as opposed to playing for 100% rakeback at a site that doesn't suit you. Personally, my best game by far is NL 6max. This is not available at WPX and even if it were the table selection would be lacking. Instead I play at Absolute where the bonuses and rakeback come out to about 115% rakeback right now. This is playing .5/1 NL. If I move up in stakes which is going to happen probably within the next month then I will be making less % of my rakeback with the bonuses...then I may look at moving. Plus, I've historically done very well against rocks. This makes Absolute by far the best place for me to play even if I wasn't making as much as I am on rake.

Playing with bonuses + rakeback at some sites' limits is like 100% rakeback anyway - and you can find better selection and softer games than WPEX elsewhere.

Yeah, I never listened to people about Party because I loved my bonuses and r-back on UB but now I feel really stupid because I make way more on Party than I ever will on UB.

FYP. GO visit the zoo or the affiliates forum. 5 new threads a day is the minimum nowadays. Down from 25 threads a day.

Whoring is better especially when you can play 5+ tables on most sites and on WSEX 2 tables at a time will get you timed out often because their software is insufficent.

If you have enough tables of type you want then 100% rakeback is better. Even if you could get 115% from bonuses time you use for hunting those bonuses and moving cash around willl quickly eat that extra 15%.

Of course if you don't have tables you want in WPEX then bonus chasing is better.

What I would really like to see is removal of all reload bonuses and rakebacks and sites starting to compete by lowering rakes. Use bonuses just for first deposit and nothing else.

Read my post again...I guess you could say I'm whoring, but I only play at Absolute. There is plenty of selection at my limit unless you're on from 6-9am EST in the US. I don't really have to deal with the hassle and BS of moving money around except for moving it in and out of Absolute which is very easy to keep track of since its all in $1000 increments and the cashout times, while not great, are very consistent. If everyone went zero rake it would cost me (and anyone else who had the brains to sign up with rakeback) money, so I don't think I would like to see that.

In my calculations...
WPEX>10x bonuses
With no regard to game selection and quality, that is.

True in theory, but game selection and quality is probably a bigger issue than anything to do with bonuses or rakeback. At Absolute I make about 7.5bb/100 playing $1NL over about 20,000 hands. Over the course of those same hands I'm making about 6bb/100 in bonus/rakeback. If I lose 3bb/100 by playing the games at WPX then I'm losing money...no doubt about it. I'm at about 4bb/100 over about 5000 hands of 100NL at WPX. Both sites have tight games, but I think the deep stack game is much better suited to my game. People have a greater ability to fold with more chips.
