View Full Version : Blackjack Press strategy/advice

I'm look for strategies for pressing your bet in blackjack. Particularly for when you are running pretty good and everything seems to be playing out perfectly (dealer breaking when they should, 17's holding up).

I play perfectly strategy but I do not card count. I also play 2 hands at once as I feel that it lowers the variance and it usually works out better for me. I just have had times when I could not lose and I feel that had I been properly pressing my bet I would have made quite a bit more. I obviously do increase my bets but not by that much, ie starting at 25 min but rarely do I bet over 50 a hand. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Oh, and Atlantic City BJ rules (when possible 6-deck no mid shoe entry at the Taj seems to be the best).

You should bet 1/ab(log2luck)^2

where a is you base bet, b is how the dealer is running 0<b<1

and luck is the % lucky you feel

This should maximise your EV in the long run.

a^(b+luck) should maximize your EV. But it is somewhat subjective.

I think illogical-gambling trolls are awesome.

We should cross-post a thread that reads "Betting-systems work, even though Party is rigged by women, who aren't as smart as men."

Since the OP mentioned he likes no mid shoe entry games, it is safe to add 5 units to the above equation.

but he plays 2 hands - therefore it should be 5/2 = 2.5

Wrong -- playing 2 hands prevents most losing streaks (since you will usually win one and lose one when running bad), but when you are running hot, you will be able to increase your bets on both hands and win both each time.

Therefore, I use 5*2 = 10

[/ QUOTE ] I don't believe that.

You'd be a very rare bird indeed if you were playing perfect basic strategy without counting.

Strike the word basic from reply, or move to OP -- then true.
