he's 34/14/4, new at table. my thoughts are he would have raised a pair or AJ so it should be a flush draw. i always seem to think flop raise are flush draws, especially against lag's. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

adi,

I have not read the results to tamper with my outlook, I only like your betting here if you are holding Q,J of hearts....

Otherwise, I think villian's range is ahead of yours and he doesn't seem to be very shy about calling your raises either...

Oh man I just saw the results, geez that guy is not too wise, I wouldn't be playing K,J either, It felt to me like an overpair, but that wouldn't explain checking the river, K,J does though

i need to play these marginal hands with less enthusiasm, even if they are against lag's...especially oop. they're not always on a draw as i seem to think. i think i should have called the raise and folded to a large turn bet. too much losing with marginal holdings.

adi, I think you are right, when you play Q,J about the worst thing that can happen is you flop top pair Q or J, it's not a good position to be in. It just begs the question why play a hand where you'll be upset if you pair up? I'm never upset when I pair an A or K with A-K, so that's something we all have to learn along the way

If you are folding KJ when its folded to you on the button, you are leaving money on the table (most times).

To OP: I don't like the flop 3-bet. Yes, he is a LAG, but I prefer to either call down and let him hang himself (if in fact you are way ahead of his hand range) or calling/leading a blank turn.

I like calling the flop raising and leading or folding the turn. Your reraise only gets called by better hands or hands with enough implied odds to call.

I usually call the raise, then donk the turn if it isn't a heart...a lot of the time he has a flush draw......donking the turn for the pot gives him bad odds to draw....if you get raised again on the turn then you have something to think about.

edit - just read results (in the future don't put results in the hand, it tends to skew analysis). This is why you play my method...the pot stays small....you really inflated the pot with that reraise with a marginal hand.
