View Full Version : Cruise ship gambling

I'm going on a cruise in a week and am told that there is a casino on board.
This will be the first time I can gamble on a cruise ship, haven't been on a ship since I was a kid.

What are the usual conditions for blackjack on cruise ships? Is it beatable using basic hi-lo?

Also, how do they react to counters? Obviously, they can't throw you overboard. Do they even back you off?
How knowledgeable is the casino staff about card counting?

Obviiously, no one could tell me what THIS cruise ship's conditions will be, but I would love to hear some experiences.

Last cruise I was on has CSMs and 6:5 single deck.

Enjoy!

I was on Royal Caribbean's Adventurer of the Seas in September 2005 and they had 6 deck blackjack and no single deck.

It was mostly $5 min bet and a bunch of people just looking to kill time. I doubt they'd try to kick you out but who knows.

Cruise ships are notorious for horrible blackjack rules and conditions (no competition afterall). Enjoy.
