How is Theory of No Limit Holdem coming along? Is it half done? 3/4 done? 90% done?

As of now, what is the estimated date of publishing?

Can you reveal the table of contents now?

You asked the same questions here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=books&Number=4287700&Sear chpage=1&Main=4241854&Words=+Ed+Miller&topic=&Sear ch=true#Post4287700) a couple of weeks ago, and Ed answered you. He said it would be some months yet, and he wasn't going to say anything about the contents. What part of that did you not understand /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Are we there yet? Are we there yet? When are we going to be there???????????

In the interest of not being a jerk about it, I would have replied something along the lines of... "Patience is very important factor in playing winning poker".

The title will be No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice. I had a slow start with it, but it's really cranking now. For instance, I've written maybe 20% of the final book in the past three weeks or so. I expect it to go to the printer in early April.

This is not firm, but May 1st plus or minus a month or so I'd say.

not wanting to steal his thunder since he's already commented that he will not be revealing the contests ahead of time.

but i have super-duper inside sources who have filled me in so I'll share.

The book's contents will include ideas about no-limit hold-em (Mike Sexton says it's the 'Cadillac of Poker').
Ed will have thoughts on this game both theoretically speaking AND from his observations of incorporating these ideas in an actual casino environment

Hope this helps.

Looking forward to the read Mr. NPA.

The fact that he said the above shows that I was justified in asking again. The above quote by Ed indicates that there have been new progress developments since I asked last.

Thanks, Ed. Can't wait.

What's the earliest time during which you can give us a sneak peek of the table of contents?

Great, now I'm torn since Ed's book is coming out about the same time as DN's book will allegedly come out, I don't know which one to buy first. Damnit, I'll buy 'em both.
Crap, I think Ciaffone's book is scheduled for around that time as well. Oh well. Ed, one question, will your book help single guys with the ladies?
In all seriousness, though, your limit book is for intermediate small-stakes players. What is the target audience of this book? What experience level and playing level?

Hi Bear:

How could you not know which one to purchase first. In my opinion, it won't even be close.

Best wishes,
Mason

There is a whole chapter on No-Limit SEX. I can't reveal my source but I know this is a fact. The chapter many be infinitesimally small, but it is ‘there’. It sums up Ed’s entire repertoire and knowledge of sex. That alone will make that book a worthwhile purchase.

I didn't know you were that fond of DN. I would have thought you would have backed our home town boy NPA Ed Miller.

Whichever one comes out first is the one I will purchase first.

However, I will be ordering NPA's book via conjelco or 2+2...whereas I will probably just pick up Negrenau's book when it makes it to my Barnes and Noble.

Anyone have an Idea of the DN books contents ??

There has been a lot of Superstars publish very light books recently .. and allthough the pagecount is very high in the DN book, I find myself being sceptical .. Is that wrong ?

RussianBear

Mr. Malmuth,
I was being flippant. Obviously if the 2+2 logo is on something, that trumps any other book and makes the decision for me.

Actually , Zeno, not that small. I heard it was going to contain several sections.

Chapter 2 --The Edwa Millutra

1. The Importance of your Position

2. Playing with Racks of All Sizes

3. Slowplaying a Big Hand

4. Betting on the Come

5. Self Control or How to Compute Odds while Trying to Name Baseball Players

Apologies to Ed and fellow members. Played so many hours over the weekend I actually napped in my car for 3 hours and went back into Casino for another 14 hour session ( was profitable ) and I am extremely slap-happy right now.

I, for one, can say that if the book is beyond my current level of play, then no, I will not be smart enough to apply it.

Let me hasten to add that I'm expecting Daniel's book to be quite good. Of course that doesn't mean Mason is wrong.

Based on what, David, if I can call you David? Without divulging any secrets, have you seen a copy and therefore you know this? Do you know who has contributed and trust them? Is Daniel that good at explaining advanced concepts? I'm just curious what that's based on, that's all. I'll probably get both books as well as Ciaffone's and get out of each of them what I can.

Mason Malmuth

Hi David:

I don't. I expect it to be at about the same level as Super System 2. That means it won't be a bad book but it won't be real good either. I just don't have confidence in that publisher to bring the best out of Negreanu and his other writers.

Of course when it does come out is when we'll know for sure.

Best wishes,
Mason

My work currently has me swamped, but I'll do my best to get out to Vegas prior to May to teach Eddie NL.
