not by me personally, as i've had a decent year playing cards but nowhere near the kind of dough some other folks on this site made. over the course of the year i've come across posts blatant and subtle, sarcastic and serious, hinting at win-rates or bragging flat-out. sometimes guys were criticized: bicyclekick for example, or stoxtrader's pt screenshots (not linked to by himself, of course), or j_v's mention of his making 6-figures a month. but now we actually have a forum to brag in, so modesty and decorum can be tossed out the window here. which 2+2er made the most $$$ this year: one of the aforementioned? james282? kanekungfu with his sick run playing heads-up vs prahlad? captzeebo? i know it's not diablo, since he loses all his poker winnings at party blackjack. so let's hear it fellas, don't be shy. BRAG.

p.s., i'm interested to find out which cash game players won the most. big tourney wins are no secret in the first place, so no point to brag since we already know, thx.

Started back in May with $0.

After playing sparingly for 7 months my bankroll sits at $1400 and I have withdrawn $4000 of bonuses/rakeback. According to my time spent playing in PT it works out to around $18/hour. Pretty nice for a BS hobby that drives me crazy. Golf sure as hell doesn't pay any bills...

Started back in late summer 2004 with $20, turned that into over $10k... most of which I have made this year. Would have been a fair amount more if it wasn’t for a severe downswing earlier this month combined with that good ol' tilt /images/graemlins/grin.gif Ah well, I can't complain though. Never in a million years did I think I would make more then $10k from poker from $20.

3k short of my revised goal for the year. My original goal was hit about 4 months ago. Bankroll did not grow. Savings has grown quite a bit, but not as much as I had hoped.

After taxes, living expenses, savings, vacations, birthdays, holidays, its difficult for me to make my bankroll grow.

2005 was a very good year for me poker-wise. I'm up more than $50k for the year, which includes $25k I've withdrawn for taxes and savings. This is playing 20-40 and 30-60 LHE. My playing time is limited to 1-3 hours/night, so I am especially happy with these results.

competition over? i hope not. that would be awesome if someone beat stox.

i would love to know how i did this year, but most of my play isn't in any PT database, so i was just using my neteller records to figure things out. but recently neteller "temporarily" closed my account (it's not getting reopened...) because my account was "linked to another account with complications," whatever the [censored] that means, they won't tell me. so i'm looking real good for reporting taxes.

i know i made 6 digits though. and i'm pretty sure i didn't surpass 200k.

p.s.: i don't hope someone beats stox because i want to see stox fail or anything, i'd just like to see how many 2+2ers are pulling in that kinda dough.

But the year's not ever over yet! In fact, I just piled up another 50 BB in under an hour on Prima. With 30 hours to go, I could make thousands!

Seriously, this has been a very good year for me. I started playing poker late last year, playing $1 buy-in live SNG's with my friends at law school between classes. I had never played Texas Hold'em before in my life and really had no clue what I was doing. A friend of mine introduced me to Party Poker, where I basically dicked around, playing a combination of cash games, SNG's, limit, NL, stud, Omaha, whatever. I slowly bled away $500 over the course of about six months.

I decided to get serious in May--I ordered $200 worth of poker books. Unfortunately, one of them was Play Poker like the Pros by Phil Hellmuth. Fortunately, another one was Small Stakes Hold'Em. Even more fortunately, I read SSH first, discovered the 2+2 website, Pokertracker, bonus-whoring, rakeback, et. I slowly dug myself out of my hole, playing nothing but .5/1 LHE on PP until I was back in the black. That took until about mid-July.

Since then, it's been nothing but good times. I'm playing $2/$4 now, excelling at both full ring and 6 max games. I've just checked my stats, and at 23,000 hands of $2/$4, I'm winning 2.72BB/100. So starting January 1st, I'm moving up to $3/$6. I've managed all of this despite graduating law school, spending 2 months studying for the bar, and starting a new job. I haven't made a fortune, but I have made more $ playing poker this year than I netted from 5 months of work. (It's a govt. job, so I guess that's not really saying much. /images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Much thanks to everyone at 2+2 who have helped me improve my game tremendously, and actually make some money at something I love doing. Happy new year every one!

Made around $1,000 but I just got serious the last 3.5 months or so(jumped up to .50/1(was at .05/.10), increased my playing time, started 4-tabling)

So, I'm pretty happy with my results, about to move up to 1/2, which is good.

This year:

Jan was good/bad. I turned 0 on party into a 4.5K step 5 win, but cashed that money out to pay off a car loan.

Then I lost half my roll (2.6K down to 1.3K)in an illfated attempt to play poker seriously.

Then I almost quit poker.

Then party opened up 3/6 6 max and I've run my roll up to 5K, cashed out 2K to help a plasma, and now it's back up to 4.2K again (with various other cashouts and stuff on top of that).

Seeing as how I play 6 hands of poker a week on avg- I'm pretty damn pleased.

The buy in for NL 100 is $10,000

The $100 refers to the size of the big blind.

Those stats are honestly outstanding.

I am not really sure how you made that much playing 130K hands.

So when you werent being dealt AA did you just flop sets, straights, and flushes?

To be honest with you 130K is not a big enough sample.

I will bet anyhting you want that you could not even hit 1/2 of that number in your next 130K hands.

THE WAY THAT IT LOOKS IN POKER TRACKER IS DIFFERENT DEPENDING ON WHICH POKER SITE YOU PLAY ON.

FOR PARTY POKER, "NL $100 (6 MAX)" IS A $100 MAXIMUM BUY IN GAME.

FOR POKERROOM (WHICH IS WHERE STOXTRADER PLAYED) AND PRIMA/ETC, A $100 MAXIMUM BUY IN GAME LOOKS LIKE THIS: "NL ($1)"

I'm depressed. I cashed out 3 grand or so this year, heavily helped by rakeback, but I haven't progressed at all. I got as high as 3/6 (6max) and 100+9 sngs, but apparently lost the abilty to play any limit poker and had a grossly overblown perception of my tournament ability, so I'm currently grinding it out at the 10+1 dollar sit n gos until I get my bearings enough to start moving up again. To actual progression in my poker game in the new year.

First let me say, congrats Stox. You mfer. 137k hands and 700k part-timing. Nicely done.

I'm not gonna say exact figures. I don't keep good records so it would be a guess anyway +/- 50k at least. That will change next year. I will grow up and keep records.

This year first six months could have been better - eh they pretty much sucked. The last six months were great. I was on pace for a 200k in 15 days of play this month before I dumped 70k to some donkeys on the last two days of the year. Pretty bummed.

I think I'm playing pretty good, tilting less, and have taken some baby steps in NL, which was a goal of mine. So my outlook for 2006 is pretty good. So, I look forward to shattering the one million dollar mark in 2006.

I think I'll post a comprehensive 2006, things I need to work on everyday list to get better. Mainly psychogical tricks to keep myself playing close to the top of my abilities.

One last thing: At the end of a poker year, looking back its seems like forever ago. Tilting, letting losses affect you the next day, playing to get even, seems so inconsequential and silly. Maybe in 2006, I can keep that perspective during the year.

i'm very proud of the fact that i turned 250 dollars into well over 50,000 this year and moved from .25/.50 to 10/20. but i also don't really feel bad about saying that i had a "bad year" in that during my two attempts at moving up to 10/20 i have experienced -250+ BB swings. the first one was actually a blessing in disguise as it inspired me to post my stats on here and recieved a ton of criticism and help that got me to raise my VPIP by almost 5 full points while playing 100,000 hands of 5/10. i'm in the middle of my second attempt at 10/20. it went well at first but right now i'm down a zillion bets and i might have to move back to 5/10 despite the fact that i feel like my play is really, really good right now ( of course there are plenty of players far better than me but i'm definetly better than 90+ percent of the other players at 10/20 ).

so basically i'm very happy with my progress in the past year but i'm really just pretty pissed at the timing of these two downswings.

My final results for 2005:

+$1,262.45(for about 4 months)

Was playing as low as .01/.02(very early in the year). Moved up to .50/1 in August, started playing 6 Max in October, now I'm making the move to 1/2 6 Max. Overall, very happy with '05, '06 is going to be 10x better though.

I don't make results posts

Most importantly though you played like 5 times the hands to achieve double?

no offense stox, but those NL results are probably really absurd, which im sure youre aware

your sample size is incredibly small and youre playing in games that have huge swings

show us 200k hands and then brag about NL results, ala kane

btw, youre absolutely badass at limit ;-)

yeah i dont have enough hands in this database myself, but its a quarterly benchmark:

a few months later with over 100k hands...
15-30 and 20-40, over-br'ed of course
