I assume you are referring to sim software, not practice software. I am not really familiar with Wong's software. I use CVData. It is pretty powerful. CVCX is a strong package as well, but not quite as tune-able as CVData. You may want to look into the free powersim software on Arnold Snyder's site also. www.blackjackforumonline.com (http://www.blackjackforumonline.com)

I happen to have every BJ software commercially available - and then some. I used to swear by SBA until Wattenberger cranked up his CV series. Now, there's nothing that even comes close to his programs. (Wong's BJA was simple, accurate and useful but times passed it by. Still, it's like a good Amiga game : creaky but honest - and fun.)

I recommend that you check out the PowerSim software available for free at Blackjack Forum Online (http://www.blackjackforumonline.com). This software is a work in progress, but it will already run fast, accurate card counting simulations for you.

It's being developed by a skilled programmer and professional player with my input and the input of the moderators at Blackjack Forum, who are all top professional gamblers. I don't find the commercially available simulation software adequate to the needs of players who want to beat today's blackjack games at a serious level.

On the commercially available software, it is impossible to simulate the actual strategies the most successful professional gamblers use in casinos to beat the blackjack games. PowerSim is being programmed to handle everything real professional gamblers do, without giving away secrets to casino surveillance employees.

We are encouraging new players to get thinking about professional strategies by playing with the PowerSim software.

A new upgrade of PowerSim comes out roughly every two months. The first of the really innovative professional gambling additions will be available later this summer.

This is not "pretty" software. We are deliberately not cluttering it up with a lot of graphics and junk, because professional gambling opportunities are constantly changing, with new opportunities arising, and we want PowerSim to be able to quickly and easily change with them.

If you can program, PowerSim is open source.

If you don't have serious ambitions for making money at blackjack, any of the inexpensive commercially available software may be better for you, because you will find it prettier and more "point-and-click." Blackjack 678 is particularly reasonably priced. But, in my opinion, if you have ambitions to make serious money at blackjack you should check out PowerSim, especially as the new upgrades are added through the rest of this year.

Welcome to the 2+2, Arnold.

I'm thinking of buying your poker book. Is it any good? /images/graemlins/cool.gif

All the major casinos (and even some smaller ones) are attacking card counters with countermeasures (such as the constant auto shuffler) that make card counting impossible.
My advice = don't waste your time with counting cards...find a different game to beat

I use Casino Verite and am very happy. You can probably get the lite version and be happy. I have tried Deepnet Technolgies software which I liked because I could play it on my Pocket PC on the train, but Casino Verite is much better by far. It is considered the standard. I have not tried PowerSim so I can't comment.
