I hate folding here in such a big pot, was this terrible?

What could button coldcall 3 preflop with? Thinking he may have AK as well, or a weird set. If he hit the flush with AcKc then you're just out of luck. He may raise you on the turn if he has a four flush....or maybe he thinks you have a four flush and is making you pay for it. Big pot, HU, you close action...yeesh. Call turn, check/crying call on river I guess. Don't really blame you for folding though.

i hated myself the second I clicked fold. i've been trying to stop paying off big hands as much with top pair, but I don't think this is the spot to do it. it just seemed like villian smooth called the flop intending to raise the turn, as I make plays like that all the time with big hands.

Close your eyes and call down a non club river. People coldcall 3 preflop with all kinds of [censored] at 2/4.

I hate saying "some people on 2/4", but some people on 2/4 raise this type of turn when it makes them top pair plus some sort of draw.

I think given the pot sized I'd call down and lose most of the time. That is, call river if a blank falls.

Me, I would have led the turn like you did. It's possible you're beat by a flush, but it's also possible he has a set, paired his sidecard or is just getting out of line, in which case you're either ahead or at least have some outs. I say call, then c/c river.

without reads it's hard to fold. I think I'd call this down

FYP. This is true. Villain could have KQ or less.

hmmm. maybe we can take a note from Card Player here and just call the flop and donk a safe turn, otherwise c/c it down. button could be on the free card play, then we arent obligated to bet the turn and get pwn3d for all sorts of bets when we are drawing dead, but we dont give him a free card when he wants one ever so badly. this is different from the other thread floating on here about Card Player because its HU and there was a button raise.

There's a good chance he has the K /images/graemlins/club.gif. I fold in these spots on occasion because whenever I call down I see a flush or a better hand than mine. You have shown mucho strength up until the turn where villain must think he can beat AA/AK. I think other times it's best to call down in case villain is semi-bluffing. Tough hand, and I hate folding in these spots too.

how do people feel about a c/r of the turn and folding to a 3-bet? a 3-bet pretty much tells us we're beat (if he's got AK with a /images/graemlins/club.gif , so be it. nh and move on.)

is this spewing? or is it just plain stupid cuz we're not sure of the villain's bet and we could be missing value?

I sometimes just call 3 cold w/ AKo. I would play the flop like the villain did w/ that hand, calling the flop and planning on probably calling down. But if I have that A or K of clubs, I'll usually raise that turn and then flip a coin about betting the river if I don't hit the flush (usually free showdown it cuz I'm a sissy). I also think I'm pretty typical of alot of 2/4 players, so you're probably folding a split alot of the time here.
