Check behind - he's gonna call with top pair crap kicker or whatever he has. Your only hope is that he was on a 109 draw - don't make this any more expensive than it already has been.

Pre flop is fine, flop bet is fine, turn bet is spewing IMO.

Checking makes sense since the only likely hand that is folding (T9) you will have beat at showdown. I wouldn't take a chance here trying to push him off middle pair.
