I didnt see any posts about this in the
first 6 pages, so here goes...

Pokerstars is offering a 100% deposit bonus
although only up to $25 from May 12th to 21st.
But more importantly, they are giving double
FPP and VPP! Plus there is a lot of giveaways
surrounding the five billionth hand.

So this will double base fpps? I was just guessing that they would be bonus points of some kind. I'm not very familiar with the system though.

They have reloads like every other month or so, which are stackable and don't expire.

I started out as a bonus whore so I have poker accounts across like 30+ sites/skins and used to deposit for most reloads. Now I don't bother for sites I know I'm not going to play on anyway.

I've been playing on stars regularly for a few months and haven't noticed any reloads. Maybe I've missed them, but it seems like everytime I'm looking around bonuswhores.com they have none listed.

What about this promotion that you get 2k if you are in a milestone hand. How big of a chance is that I am in a hand?

Assume there are 1000 cash tables going on and the hand 5billion is dealt. So is my chance one in a 1000 to win a prize?

Sciolist

If there're 1000 tables running and you're playing 8 (the maximum) and assuming that the rate hands are dealt on each table is the same, your chance is 8/1000 which is 1/125. If you play during every single of the 34 milestone hands, you've therefore 34 chances to hit 1/125, and I'm far too lazy to plug that into a binomial equation to work out what that is.

Is there any way of telling which number they are at so you can plan to be playing during a milestone hand?

Yes. View a table and then click hand history and it shows the hand number on the left of each hand played.

It is a definition of a crapshoot. Here is what you can do to help lower the odds

You can play 8 tables at once. During the last ones, they capped the lowest buy in tables but they opened as many 5NL tables as needed.

Get onto as many of these as possible and just fold every single hand. It will get 1-2 more entrys per contest period per table.

Poker stars bottom weights the contest period toward the end. On Wednesday or Thursday there will be twenty contests over about a 30 hour period. I was able to get on a bunch of tables where people would not mind folding every single hand. You dont want to be with the nit that wont fold his pocket aces and pick up 15 cents worth of blinds. Hopefully we can get some tables of 2+2 bonus whores . Then just sit out after the bonus hand is awarded so you can keep the same 9 people at the table.

Its very important to get a rhythem going. Pokerstars is dealing about 4-5K hands per minute right now. Just before the milestone hand this will go up to about 12-15K or more hands per minute. You want a good 2-3 minutes of continious folding going so I suggest starting about 20-30K before the milestone hand. If you wait closer to the milestone hand then you will get that nit that wont fold his small blind or pkt aces.

I did win one of these contests for Pokerstars 2 Billionth hand. It was a sweet payment. This time its more than double in prizes. I'll have a better idea when hand number 4.99 Billion will happen by Saturday Morning.

Their reputation as a nit site and plus I played SSNL for the longest time. I could probably clear the bonus at NL200 6-max, but not sure what the tables are like.

I'll probably clear the bonus at 1/2 stud hi while they still have the double FPP going.

I just signed up on stars cause of the first deposit bonus and it seems to be a bad one compared to other bonuses like party, bet365 and other primas, ladbrokes, pacifik, tain etc etc.
I play NL10, NL25 sometimes NL50 and I havent got even one fpp so far (2hours play).

Does anyone know what happens if one of the milestone hands falls in a tournament? In the rules it says it has to be "a cash ring game".

It will not be played in a tourney. I would guess they have put some code into the dealing program that says, If handnum = milestonehandnum then check to see if its a cash game. If not cash game pause tourney, if cash game give the hand to the next cash game that needs a new deck.

I strongly suspect this. At the peak it will be going at literally hundereds of hands/second. A fraction of a second delay is all that would be required.

Same goes for play money tables.

I'm not on pokerstars normally but may be signing up now as this seems pretty good.

Now before you fold u need to check that your hand isn't one of the milestones right? Like you will know when u hit a milestone cuz it will show u the number as u are playing right? Then everyone pushes all in on the NL5 to try to be the winner of the bonus?
