I will have some time available next month to play a little B&M in the Seattle Area and I'm looking for recommendations for good games at the 'next level up' from $4/8. I am interested in playing from $6/12 to $12/24.

I live in the north so I'm guessing something in the shoreline area or perhaps Kenmore or Tulalip. I may make a trip down south for a good game as well.

I'm not looking to make it a regular thing and tighten up your favorite soft game, just looking to make the most of an opportunity I have for 2-3 nights out next month.

Useful info would be what places are best during the week, on the weekend, and how games compare to local $4/8

When I'm in the area I play the 10/20 at Tulalip. It's snuggly soft on the weekends.

The 6/12 and 8/16 games in Shoreline are like an ATM without a PIN.

Without question the best games are in Diamond Lil's in Renton. Action there is loose every night, not just on the weekends, and the few "good" players there are are very passive -- the kind that check behind the river with top set because the third flush card came.

They have $4/$8, $8/$16, and $12/$24 -- and unlike many casinos, the players don't really get any better as you move up in limits.

For example, cold-calling 3-bets with 4c5c because "it's a jackpot hand" is something you'll see a lot of at Lil's.

The one exception to the above is the Omaha8 game. That game is full of a bunch of tightwads who will only draw to the nuts, and they are generally very good (Omaha) players.

Is Diamond Lil's non smoking now?

Yes, it is.

Thanks to those who replied.

I also had occasion to stop in at the juicy 4/8 Kill game at Northern Lights (near Anacortes) a couple nights ago.

I was able to ponder the question: I wonder if it's +/- EV for me that the guy to my left is live-straddling my every BB?

FWIW, I'll probably play at Diamond Lil's this Friday night (20th).

I was in Seattle for 3 nights (during the week) and played at Diamond Lil's. The 4/8 holdem game was pretty soft (loose and passive) with 5+ players on almost every flop.

They have a bad beat jackpot, and on Wednesday nights they have an hourly $100 high hand jackpot.

I would definitely recommend it.

Out in the sticks, huh? That lil' casino alone on a mudflat damn near in the middle of nowhere. Someday I might take a trip up there just to see the inside and check it out. But then, I haven't seen the new tulalip yet either.

Tulalip looked great while I was there, and that was the 20/40 kill game. I can't even imagine what a low-limit game was like.
