View Full Version : party point accumulation - someone check my logic/math?

I got my party bonus offer, $905 for 11140 points. Normally I'd just play a few days and see if I was on track, however I'm leaving for vacation (probably without internet) on Friday morning.

I'm a silver VIP, and I play pretty much all 3/6 and 5/10 NL. So, I get 12 * 1.5 / 20 = .9 points per raked hand, I believe.

Yesterday, according to PT, I played 3406 hands, and 2179 (game notes tab) were raked. Using this as an estimate, 2179/3406 = 64% of hands are raked in the games I play. So, I should need to play about:

11140 P / ( ( .64 rh/ph ) * ( .9 P/rh ) ) = 19340 ph

P = points
rh = raked hands
ph = played hands

I'm fairly certain about the math, but not so convinced about my assumptions. Does the silver multiplier count as "regular party points"?

thanks,
-highland

A few things to keep in mind...
-Raked hands of different levels do not combine
-Your raked hands are done in blocks of 20..Rounded down..So if you are playing two level you could "lose" upto 19 raked hands per level
-the silver multiplier is counted as regular points..No happy hour points.

Everything seems fine. You get 18 points per 20 raked hands, so (11140 * 20) / 18 = 12378 raked hands. Divide that by 0.64 and you need approximately 19340 total hands. Pretty damn good offer too, although at that level I guess you pay a pretty good amount of rake.

I am silver, play only NL25, and my offer was $170 for 3970. Thus I needed about 13000 raked hands or 22000 total hands to get 1/5 of what you get. lol. I guess us NL25 players don't pay enough rake. 21800 hands later I have 200 points left to get and have paid $525 in rake. Currently contemplating playing another 22000 hands to double it to $340. Poor me. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

In the last two days:
Hands: 6299
Winnings: +$1746
Paid in rake: $1362

So, yeah lotsa rake, but still better than cryptologic /images/graemlins/smile.gif. Thanks for the check.

I do have enough of a bankroll for NL50 but just didn't really think it was worth moving up. I am doing pretty well at NL25 and I would still only get 6 points per 20 hands and I would be paying more rake. Although on the plus side I might get a better VIP offer next time around. Thanks for the suggestion and maybe I will give NL50 a try for the next 22000 hands and see how it goes. NJ.
